Flying Circus collector planes without having any Flying Circus volume (only with a Great Battles game)

In the description of SSW D.IV collector plane I read this:

In addition to Quick Mission Builder and Multiplayer modes, you can fly it in Career mode during Flying Circus timeframes if you own both this collector plane and either of Flying Circus volumes.

So does this mean that if you have any "Great Battles" game (such as BoS) you can buy and use (fly) any Flying Circus collector plane without having any Flying Circus volume?

If there is any difference, I am asking about standalone game (not Steam).

I would advise you to purchase all four FC volumes just to be sure to be sure to be safe. But after the sale mind, Seb, to ensure the benefits of the full sale prices are passed on to 1C. Others may have their opinions, but that is unimportant.

I would if I thought I would get around of actually using/playing the planes in all of them.

Isn't the text clear? You need to own one of the Flying Circus modules plus the collector plane.

Imo you'd like the planes in Vol 1 better than the collector planes.  Opinions may vary..

That's about access to Flying Circus Career mode (and also Against the Tide historical campaign).

Without having Flying Circus you only can ue it in Quick Missions and Multiplayer - that's may take anyway.

I only quoted a part of that paragraph.

In addition, in this case Against the Tide historical campaign on the Flying Circus Western Front map will open up for you in the game for free - you'll become one of the Jasta (Jagdstaffel) 22 pilots that received these newest biplanes shortly before the end of the World War I.

Great Battles (BoS, BoM etc.) and the Flying Circus are all the same game.

Without owning any Flying Circus, you can play Quick Missions against AI enemies flying FC planes.

I would say you can use Flying Circus collector planes (2 planes so far), if you only have a Great Battle game. But I can not say for certain. There could be some "soft-lock" preventing that. That's why I asked.

Anyway for me it is no longer relevant. After looking at the included planes in all volumes, I got Flying Circus Volume I instead of a Flying Circus collector plane.

Late answer, but no, you don't need to buy a module in order to buy and fly a collector plane.

Except that he wouldn't have access to the FC maps, right? So it seems a bit pointless to fly a WW 1 plane in Quick Missions on WW 2 maps.

He would have access to whatever maps come with the game for free or what is being run on a multiplayer server.

I was thinking to get a WW 1 era plane just for fun and something different, at a very low price ($3.99). I did not even assume I would have had access to the WW 1 era map included in Flying Circus modules or to the career mode.
