Thrustmaster TWCS Throttle - Antenna axis

Morning all,

 

Quick question about the Thrustmaster TWCS Throttle.

That wheel to the far left, I think some label it as an antenna.
TWSC has it as #2 Antenna axis

also --- the #4 Rocker

 

Windows USB Game Controllers Properties - Dial (here it works)

 

Has anyone gotten IL2 FB to pick up on it, to see if its even available?

I use it as pitch trim axes in Il2 GB

Really and IL2 is seeing it.....  NUTS!   LOL   

Any one have advice for IL2 seeing this button option.

I have already removed in reinstalled IL2?

Sometimes in IL2 when assigning controls you need to move the control through its full motion for IL2 to pick it up. That may be it. Otherwise, it is probably something that needs to be assigned within the thrustmaster software (changing the dial to a button type or something like that).

It's axis not button...you cannot assign a button there..

I'm not familiar with their product or software. Other products allow you to change the nature of certain controllers. The problem is windows recognizes the hotas input, but IL2 doesn't. What is the solution?

I originally said button but just for lack of a better word.  Your correct it is an Axis.

Oh and the same goes for the Rocker?   LOL

Yesterday I did email Thrustmaster to see if they had any suggestions, but I probably won't here anything back until early next week.

Once / if I do I'll update this.    Later 

 

 

 

Adding another update.....   

I just closed down and tried plugging in the throttle into different 3.0 & 3.1 USB ports... Same issue.

Next I tried ROF....  no issue there.  It picked up all the Buttons and Axis.

Looks like the issue is with IL2.

I'm still waiting until next week to see if Thrustmaster has any ideas.

To expand on your original question--could you explain exactly what you are doing to try to map the axis? For example, what controls have you tried to map the axis to (e.g. views/zooming, radiators, trim tabs, etc.)?

 

BTW, as a work around you could use third party program like joystick gremlin.

Thank you for the response.
Thrustmaster their reply was not much help.
Usual, re-install the drivers, verify game settings, Edit config Files, Contact IL2.
I said I did all that when I emailed them.  

What I was trying to activate was  - 

- Antenna 
- Rocker Switch 
- # 2 as L-Shift 
- # 3 as L-Ctrl 

Last night.... 
I was able to set this up using the Thrustmaster TARGET GUI program.

Seems to be working Ok

Update 

I got it all running except for the - Antenna 

I also dropped Thrustmaster TARGET GUI program for XPADDER.

With TH Target its all or nothing. 

Meaning there is just no edit a few buttons your having issues with and let your Sim pick up your alterations and those you didn't adjust.

You have to do them all!   OUCH   Nope!

 

With XPADDER I just altered the button/bindings that I had issues with and IL2 picked the all up.

Well except the Antenna....  I can live without it.

That's strange! Why so much trouble with thrustmaster TWCS ? I have changed 3 of them!! ( always break the same button after prolong  hard usage) over the past 4 years and everytime Windows always recognizes them without any issue, all its buttons and axis.

Indeed, no issues with mine either - been using the system for several years now, and don't even need any external program to map buttons. Everything works fine and can make any needed changes within GBS itself.

 

(though been a while since playing IL2 FB however...)

Windows recognizes it all (USB Game Controllers) as does ROF the issue is in IL2 .....  and I already removed it and re-installed.  Still not matter with everything running except the Antenna I'm OK with it.   THU
