peterk1 Posted May 7 Posted May 7 I just played my first Bomber area patrol in a Battle Of Moscow career. My squadron made it to the patrol area and began circling. There were no bombers spotted. We circled for 20+ minutes without receiving the End Of Mission announcement. I began suspecting that the mission was buggy. When I noticed that fuel (in the Mig-3) was falling below 50% I started the auto-pilot and began time accelerating to see what would happen. As suspected, squadmates started reporting bingo fuel and started peeling off to try to land somewhere. I noticed that this mission type is fairly new, introduced in February of this year. Just wondering if this was a one-off or if this mission type will always do that if there is no enemy action. Has anyone had a successful run of this mission type without combat? A few nights ago I got to play another new mission type, Frontline Patrol. There were no contacts on that one either but the mission worked perfectly and was a lot of fun.
1CGS LukeFF Posted May 7 1CGS Posted May 7 Do you happen to have the mission file? https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/90760-how-to-attach-mission-files-to-user-reports/
peterk1 Posted May 7 Author Posted May 7 (edited) Yes. I aborted the mission and stepped out of the career and haven't played another mission since. The timestamp on this file looks right. Original file was over 5M and I couldn't attach directly, but I compressed it down. _gen.Mission.zip Thanks for the quick reply! Edited May 7 by peterk1

Thanks, I'll pass it along to our mission developers.
1CGS LukeFF Posted May 11 1CGS Posted May 11 Looks like there is an issue, so it should be fixed in the next update. The bombers appeared in square 2212-2 and were shot down by Soviet AAA in square 2212-6, so that's why you never saw them.
Cardolan Posted May 12 Posted May 12 Just to share I had a somewhat similar experience with the same mission type. Only I was able to see the bombers in the map (outside the bomber area) went there to intercept together with my flight, later returned to the intercept bomber area and spent the rest of my fuel patrolling the bomber area without any "mission successful" message or any other bomber appearing. I don't have the mission file anymore though.
1CGS LukeFF Posted May 12 1CGS Posted May 12 No worries, I think our mission designers have the problem solved.
