Calm Before The Storm Kuban Campaign IL2 Pilot Career

I'm playing the Kuban Calm Before The Storm career as an IL2 Pilot flying with 8th GSHAP unit flying out of Gelendzhik AF.

 

On several missions we take off from the AF and form up over the water making a fairly tight right hand turn to waypoint #2 which is usually located over the city of Klanskaya where we are to meet up with our fighter escort. Unfortunately our AI flight lead fly's right into the mountains killing most of, if not all of the entire AI flight of IL2's.

 

Monkey see monkey do sort of thing going on sometimes half the flight will manage to avoid the mountains but on most occasions the entire flight gets wiped out. 

 

The IL2's that do manage to avoid the mountains on the initial flight out to target will on many occasions fly right into the mountains on the egress back to base. 

 

This doesn't happen on every mission but I would say every 1 of 3 missions the AI flight lead manages to fly the entire flight of IL2's into the mountains.

 

Not sure why this is happening if the mission generator is not putting in a high enough altitude for the AI flight lead to fly over the mountains to the next waypoint or what it is that is happening too make this occur. Hoping the dev's know and can sort this out.

 

I suppose to avoid this issue one would just play as flight lead but that is not how I have my career set up. I'm flying as a lowly Sgt trying to make my way up the ranks. I should be base commander by now after watching about 20+ of my squad mates fly into the mountains.

 

I think the base political commissar is starting to wonder why I am the only one that ever comes back from a mission...... 🤪

 

Had I known this was an issue I would have started as commander and hopefully my AI flight would follow me over the mountains to the next waypoint or target. 

 

It's a shame because I am quit enjoying the missions that are being generated and career other than the fact of the AI flying into the mountain issue. 

 

Hoping the dev's can correct this issue.

Being fairly computer illiterate you will have to send me a path I do see  C:\Program Files (x86)\1C Game Studios\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\FlightLogs

 

but I cannot open the file...or attach it here. 

 

Sorry I'm not the brightest when it comes to this part of things....
