Hey comrades! In today's dev blog, we take a look at how ground objects can crash and burn in Korea. IL2 Series.

You can read the latest entry here: https://il2-korea.com/news/dd_30

Holy moly, seriously you guys are going all out on this next generation if IL-2, attacking rail yards will be worth it in IL-10's. I guess this has to be tied in with commander mode since these supplies you will need therefore more reason to attack them.

Very impressive detailing there, the IL_2 series has come a long way since the early years of the original game by Oleg Maddox and his team, I wonder if he looks in to see what you guys are doing these days, he would not recognise it as being part of the same family of games from that very same game studio.;)

Take care and be safe.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete.

Very sexy! That's more detail than I thought we'd be getting.

Looks like ground attack in this sim is going to be exceptional

Very impressive. Too bad this couldn’t have been done for Great Battles but I also understand the amount of time and effort it would take for the developers to commit to doing this would not be worth it on an outdated game. But again, very impressive. I have high hopes for the new series.

Great to see right looking demolution  physics , I hope the truck gonna move to stop not just stop in place and switch to destroyed black model if blow up.

My first reaction was to go 'oh no', and start planning on picking up all of those bags and reloading the trailer... some deep part of me wants this sim to include 'restocking' and manually loading trucks... I will not request this as a feature though.

Quite impressive!

Yes all of this new effort would have made a fantastic addition to the experience in Tank Crew.

I bet. Too bad they couldn't but I appreciate the fact they can't do everything.

Reminded me of that one mission in Mafia 2 with the crates. Honestly that'd be a pain unless you leave some Glenn Miller playing somewhere close by.

I really hope they give us ground vehicles... with all of these ground improvements, and better looking ground detail, it would be a shame to not enjoy being able to drive tanks, Jeeps, etc.

That would be cool being able to drive jeeps and tanks.

Imagine getting shot down and surviving a bailout or crash landing, finding a nearby truck, and escaping back to friendly lines!

If it ever went to that I'd be out... I want a fantastic flight sim set during the Korean war, anything else from that would be tosh as far as I'm concerned.

The flight aspects must have absolute priority.  Period!!  Any first person play beyond flying the aircraft is wasted effort.  Effort that could be better used at developing multi crew aircraft as flyable.  The community has wanted multi engine bombers for years, it's time that was tended to.

The TU2 and A26 should be priorities, with the B29 also as a probable.

I would suggest removing or at least dramatically reducing the sparks from the train's wheels when the air dumps and the brakes come on. Sparks from the wheels sliding is pretty rare, as you have two essentially polished surfaces sliding against each other, the effect looks super cartoonish.

I'm also in the market for a top notch flight sim, this is top shelf stuff for us fighter attack guys with immersion, simulation, and game play, but any ground stuff beyond that is a big NO ThANK's.

It does seem a bit of overkill for a combat flight sim I must admit.

I think it seems like overkill just because we haven't seen this kind of thing before. Especially a sim like this which will have a large emphasis on ground attack, looking over my shoulder rolling out of a strafing pass and seeing the truck I took a snapshot pass at tumble down a hillside because I managed to clip the driver seems like an exceptional experience. Keeps shooting up ground targets exciting and dynamic.

It should be a good promotional tool too, I'll bet there'll be lots of people posting vids everywhere of this stuff, especially if they're setting up crazy cinematic trick shots, which could draw people to the game.

Looks fantastic.  Congrats to the development team!  I hope they put the same attention to detail in the aircraft AI.

My comment was focused on first person operation of ground vehicles and , God forbid, being a person on the ground operating as infantry.  The effects shown in and of themselves are great.  First person ground activities will dilute the core of what IL2 has always been, a combat flight simulation.

I think if the vehicles are already physics driven it's not too much more of a stretch to let players control them, indirectly or directly. You could argue that doing detailed interiors is a waste of the modeller's time, but a very basic dashboard view like the original free update tanks would be fine for most players. There's a couple of sim-adjacent games on the market right now where you can give orders to ground units and I think it does add tangible gameplay options, especially for multiplayer.

Yeah I have to say that this looks amazing, but honestly I would much rather the effort/man hours went into developing AI plane routines  for the SP aspect of the sim. Other than making videos, which will be cool, most pilots will either A. Never see these effects or B. Watch them a dozen times or less and then be bored with the repetitiveness that all in sim effects have after the new wears off. Sure does looked cool now though.

We can develop more than one thing at the same time. 🙂

I would prefer to fix the cpu bottleneck whenever multiple AI units appear at the same place making the Sim unable to enjoy in SP missions than sophisticated vehicle functions in a combat flight simulator...

This game will get there. It will be an amazing experience once it is finished.
