Arrow_1974 Posted April 10 Posted April 10 (edited) I’m working on a mod to add more ranks in career mode. Started with the German Luftwaffe and added Major, Oberstleutnant, and Oberst. Surprisingly, those new ranks actually show up after editing characterranks and some related scripts. I also replaced the rank icons (the small display thumbnails) for all ranks, including existing ones. The new ranks show the thumbnails just fine. But the existing ranks are still showing the original images. I know this might not be historically accurate—since the player only commands a Staffel, not a Gruppe or Geschwader—but I think having more ranks adds some extra motivation to progress through the career. Anyone know where those old thumbnail images are being pulled from—or how to override them properly? Appreciate any help. Edited April 11 by Arrow_1974 Screenshot for more clarity 1

Good idea, but sorry, I can't help you with your problem, but for the Luftwaffe it would be really historical correct if the ranks Unteroffizier (Corporal) and Gefreiter (Private) would be added. In the Luftwaffe even Gefreite (Privates) were sometimes pilots: (here shown a lucky young pilot who was shot down during his first combat mission and survived)
Arrow_1974 Posted April 11 Author Posted April 11 (edited) So - I was able to fix the problem on my own. Was a little bit of a stretch to get this figured out but now also the small already existing ranks are correctly replaced by my newly created ranks. For the Luftwaffe I added one more lower rank besides the three senior officer ranks (Major, Oberstleutnant (Lt. Colonel) and Oberst (Colonel): Fhj. Unterfeldwebel (Fhj. = Fahnenjunker = officer candidate, Unterfeldwebel ~ Sergeant) I adjusted the ranks Feldwebel and Oberfeldwebel to: Fhj. Feldwebel (Fhj. = Fahnenjunker = officer candidate, Feldwebel ~ Staff Sergeant) Fhj. Oberfeldwebel (Fhj. = Fahnenjunker = officer candidate, Oberfeldwebel ~ First Sergeant) I thought this made more sense to implement officer candidate ranks since the career ladder goes up to Oberst (Colonel). I didn't consider any General ranks even that occured but was more an exception. I also added ranks to the Soviet, British and American fraction -don't want to name them now - too lazy 😉 Once I can verify that the program won't crash when you get promoted I can make this mod available for those who are interested. AGAIN - I didn't aim to reflect historical correctness Edited April 11 by Arrow_1974

XQ_Lothar29 Posted May 13 Posted May 13 (edited) I'm using this mod because I missed being able to rank up. However, when I activated it, I realized I'd been demoted two ranks. I added the central symbol to the Iron Cross of the Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds to make it historic. Here I have found all the ranks of the Luftwaffe https://www.wehrmacht.es/es/content/8-rank-luftwaffe sorry I was in the wrong place Edited May 13 by XQ_Lothar29
