unable to play? #100005 error states update and it will not update?

I own both versions Steam Version and PC standalone version.

Steam Version is working, PC version isn't, its not letting me log in.

It says there's an update. Have you tried updating the game?

 

Also, that's definitely not a mastiff there. Are you an impostor?

my profile was combined with the Steam version, I would also like to use my PC version? which is not letting me use. I purchased steam Version, and PC version. So I  would like to use either ones that I paid for.

 

to answer your question; I had a Mastiff, he passed away years ago. I know have these Marteese, Bijan's. they are very loving puppies.

Well yes, but have you tried *updating* the non-Steam version, as the error message suggests? You should do so from the launcher.

 

Be aware that IL2 does not have access to your Steam purchases; in other words, you're only able to fly Steam-bought products from the Steam version. But you should certainly be able to start up either version.

Ah your 2nd screen, that explains why it shows up in the screenshot. Sorry to hear about your mastiff, but at least your current dog looks very cute

Yes, I been doing this way since the beginning and this is the first time I’m having issues running the pc version. I’m might I have to uninstall reinstall as this has happened before. I run steam in openxr, through steam; I run pc version through pc install from another drive. Yes shortcuts do reflect there respective installs.

Yes I run the launcher as soon as it logs in, I get the 100005 error.

The screenshot you posted is of the game, not the launcher. What exactly does the launcher say? Can you post a screenshot of it too?

The launcher says play, otherwise if there was an update it would say update.

Before you reinstall, can you delete the entire contents of the updates folder?

tried that didn't work. Error #100005 game need updating.

it all started on 02/20/2025 when I started the Steam version all of a sudden it stated Steam has detected another version of IL2 running on your system. Would you like to link your 2 versions under 1 account with Steam? So I said ok I linked the 2 accounts that's when the PC version non-steam, started having issues.

Hmm funny; maybe Steam did something to your other install that makes it think it's now a Steam install, while Steam updates only the actual Steam install. Or something.

 

In any case, linking the two installs might very well be the reason your standalone version stopped working.

Well I reinstalled, 1C Games unlinked them now it working.
