Is it Possible to Edit Stock Missions?

I would like to change the time of day for a stock mission (Moscow-Frontline Patrol).  Is this possible?

Maybe it's possible by using the tool to extract hidden game files, as explained in the Surface Editing topic.

You can extract game files using unGTP-IL2.exe which you can download from the post I linked. You'll then find the stock missions in the (null)/Missions folder.

 

Note that you cannot modify missions belonging to paid campaigns; only free missions are editable.

Been always my frustration with the cmpbin files in a paid campaign, even stopped buying them other than for support reasons.

... would love to change a player plane there or even some payload for a change.

If you can extract it, why would anyone buy it?  Also not all the campaigns have locked loadouts.

 

The same issue applies to not having paid Coop missions since the mission files have to be installed on all the players machines.

BTW, there are official campaigns that use the msnbin format still. Donated by the makers then i guess.

But in general, and that's my opinion, it feels like buying a book where some pages have blackened lines to keep them censored for children's eyes.

Absolutely NO discussion about cracking or unlocking payware campaigns, AT ALL.

That's sort of correct. If the missions are included free for players with a collector plane they are in the same format as the single scenario missions. The scenario missions are included for anyone with access to the plane to fly it.
