czech693 Posted March 28 Posted March 28 Is the slip indicator on the Nieuport 17Gbr operating backwards? Since the tube is concave downwards (if only slightly), pressing left rudder should move the ball to the left (opposite of what happens when the tube is concave upwards). It's moving opposite to the rudder press.
AndyJWest Posted March 29 Posted March 29 (edited) It's clearly a bubble, rather than a ball - as in a spirit level. A ball wouldn't work with the curve going down at the ends. You are right though, it isn't moving in the right direction. Sideslipping makes the bubble go 'downhill'. Edited March 29 by AndyJWest
czech693 Posted March 29 Author Posted March 29 You're right. Gravity would pull a ball down into one end or the other, whereas a bubble floats.
