I don't mind having labels on sometimes, tho I usually fly without. But they're so large. Is there some way to make the font smaller? Thanks.

Not possible, sorry.  This has been asked for many times over the years.  Hopefully in the new Korea sim this will be addressed.

There used to be a mod to change the labels and delete the text with just a colored chevron for enemy. I don't know if it's still around in some form or not. Do a search for "Icons" in the mod section and you might turn up something.

Yes such a mod exists, with several options.

You should find it in the 'Mods' section of the forum.

The MoD allows for a large number of options - I have a small red or blue dot over aircraft which is much more immersive than the full description in the vanilla game.

Thanks. Exploring the options. It seems the fonts are graphics files. So ultimately if I really really want to I could attempt to edit those too.

Does your version include the distance?  If so, could you please post it for others to download?  I just necro'd the Icon Mod thread showing an example that includes distance, but is no longer available anywhere in the 6 pages of the thread...

Thanks! :)

The one I use doesn't include the distance - numbers all over the sky ruins any immersion in my view - so simply a small red or blue dot identified friend or foe.

With JSGME - you'll find details of how to download it and activate MoDs with it elsewhere in this forum - a really useful tool!

Hi Mike,

I think you also need to provide the font32.dds to go along with that .txt file, don't you?  I'm not sure how the .txt file works, but I think the .dds and the .txt are a pair that have to be used together.  If you're not also using the font32.dds let me know, as then I'll really be stumped as to how the Icon mods work! :)

P.S.  I just compared the values in your font32.txt file to the stock font32.txt file, and they are identical.  So, your Icon mod would differ from the stock icons by what you have in your font32.dds file.  I would be interested in seeing it, too.

I'm afraid I have no idea how you construct the MoD (or any other variant) from its component files - that will have been pulled together by the author of the MoD I guess.  I have simply downloaded the MoD and applied it with JSGME.  Sorry!

Check out the 3rd party mods. If it can be made, it can be changed.
