After the absence from nearly 4y on my SSD, I did install BOX/FC again. The complete lack of improvements by 1C on this subject did made me leave BoX in favor for much better optimized VR games.  Now I guess after this long time lots must have been changed and improved for VR users.

I do hope an member can help me in getting the right adjustments/mods or changing the .INI files to reduce the shimmer and Jaggies.

Am also interested in any suggestions.

I run a quest 3 and in my experience the greatest effect comes from AA set to MSAA min x4 but this is a large burden on my GPU, a 3090.

Currently run meta upscaling at 1.45 using oculus tray tools and FXAA x 4 and got a good balance between performance and quality.

Did hope after Jason did leave 1C, these Russian guys would focus like DCS on game improvements first by introducing all kinds of new settings, like DLSS/DLAA, Nvidia-VRs, TAA, DirectX12.2, multicore etc, instead of introducing another plane. I do have an 5070ti but compare to others VR games, its for VR users still a bad optimized game.
Think 1C should understand that most potential buyers are using mid range PC or laptops.

The new engine is on DirectX 12 and should allow them to add those features.

Check if "Sharpen" is turned on in the graphics settings, if you haven't already. I've got a Vive Cosmos and have found that having that turned on exacerbates the issue. YMMV.

I think that's an engine issue, not related to shimmer.

If you have a later NVDIA card set the NIS sharpening and film grain directly in the control panel.  You must do it while the game is running or it won't work let alone appear in the panel as a setting.  Best to do it in a profile for whatever game you set.  You'll see the results live as you adjust your game for preference right in your headset.
