Vishnu Posted March 19 Posted March 19 I realize life can sometimes take over things, as it is more important than a flight sim application, but I get the sense that this is it. I feel like Pat has taken this project to the end, and he doesn't plan on making any more enhancements or improvements. I hope that is not the case, but my gut is telling me he's done with the project and will only sparingly take on bugs if needed. Thoughts?
Aapje Posted March 19 Posted March 19 He already said that he will not do major development anymore, but simply supporting it like he does already takes a bunch of time. And as long as there is support, it is not dead. 2 1

As @Aapje said above, below are the thoughts from the legend himself a couple of years ago. Honestly, he has done A LOT of work since then...thank you Pat!
PatrickAWlson Posted March 21 Posted March 21 I'm not dead yet! Obviously, I spent a very significant chunk of my Xmas holiday implementing FC 4. Not just the campaigns but skins as well. That was dropped in January of this year. I have to get a bug fix version out for some complaints. I have not done new development on WWII because there hasn't been much to do. However, I still add planes when they are released and I think that I am up to date in that regard. For the past three years my time has been more limited due to work. That will probably remain true for the foreseeable future. But no, it's not dead yet. 3 10

Are you planning on adding PWCG support form the Odessa early/late campaigns once they are added?
ST_Catchov Posted March 21 Posted March 21 It was never dead and neither is Pat. Just wait til he incorporates Page's White Summer into the soundtrack of the upcoming PWCG Zeppelin missions. Whenever that is? 1

My favorite guitar solo of all time. 3 2
KodiakJac Posted April 2 Posted April 2 Looking forward to the incorporation of the Bf109 E4 into PWCG later this year to use in 1940-41 campaigns on the Normandy map. It will make a much better matchup against the British fighters!

I stuck with the "F" for my faux BoB because we don't have early Spitfires or Hurricanes.

I didn't realize that was a period correct matchup, or at least the best fit. But come to think of it, you would have used the E7 if that was a better matchup. I guess I'll just remain overwhelmed...lol

It's not really a better fighter than the Hurricane I where the F2 is a much better fighter than an E7 or E4. The problem is the Spitfire V, which is way better than an E4. Thought: start with the E4 and Hurricane for at least a couple of months and then introduce the Spit and F2 later. Might work. 4 1
PatrickAWlson Posted August 3 Posted August 3 Just a quick note - I'm not gone yet, just completely swamped by real life. Happy flying. 6

Hi Pat - When RL allows, and if you are up for it, I would love to see a minor PWCG change to add the Yak-3 as a player selected replacement a/c (i.e. not requiring you to add it historically to the actual squadrons). Now that it is sitting in my hanger, I would love to have a place to use it in a career while the Devs complete S&L. As always, thanks for all of your marvelous work!
