Best movie involving an Air War ever made in my opinion. I give Tora Tora Tora second place. I doubt that it will ever be made but I'd like to see one made about the Air War over Europe or North Africa from both points of few like these two movies were made

"Midway" (the 1976 film) isn't that bad...

 

"The Blue Max" (1966) and "Aces High" (1976) don't really deal with historical air battles, they are more "generic", thus not comparable.

Geez it's hard to top that list! And a salute to the BBC Wings TV series. Marvellous stuff. Top Hole. They need to do a reboot but alas it probably costs too much money these days. Sad. But I'm forgetting myself. This is about cinema and the glories what them blokes achieved, glories what saved the western world from very bad people and the like. The same bad people what didn't believe in freedom and democracy. Thankfully, them days are behind us.

 

Now I'll add this to the list. A masterpiece. It's no accident it was listed in "The 100 Greatest War Films" as voted by the UK public. It's a Christmas favourite down her in Oz too. You want action, romance, tension, music and FX .... you got it! Is it the best movie ever made? I'll let you decide.
