Multi player targeting

Is there a way to identify planes in multi player such as allies(blue) enemies (red)

Also is there a way to get HUD in multi player as is available in quick start?

Depending on the type of IL-2 Multiplayer Server, you might have over players tagged with the color of the side they play. But most of the veteran MP servers, remove those... so you need to pay attention to the markings on most of the plane wings. Also, if you are not sure about a plane (enemy or not)... I would suggest moving out... On some of the MP servers, if you tend to shoot friendly, you might get banned for a few days!

At times when I spawn into a game there are no planes to be found...

Where could I join a squad?

Depending on the type of mission you are playing, there should always be some spawn for planes (and sides).
In the Single Player mission, you will start in the plane that was given to the player. In MP server, you will need to select the side and the Airfield Spawn to select your plane.
If you start from the Quick mission option, you will be able to set up what you will fly: enemies in the sky, enemies on the ground. and where you will start from (ground, in the air,...)
