1CGS LukeFF Posted March 11 1CGS Posted March 11 Dear friends, we would like to share an interesting poster with you. We handed out such large posters to visitors of recent exhibitions in Russia, who flew IL-2 Great Battles in VR cockpits with VIRPIL Controls equipment. The English version of the poster is now available for download in high resolution TIFF format, in case you want to print it yourself. The poster shows all player-controlled aircraft and ground vehicles released so far in the IL-2 Great Battles series. Only when you see it all at once do you realize the scale of the work that has been done over the past 10 years - each plane or tank is not only visually and physically detailed, but also has a recreated cockpit (or even several, as combat stations in bombers or tanks) with working instruments, adjustable sights, all kinds of indicators, and even working artillery sights. We have also tried to show all aircraft and vehicles in the right scale to each other - it gives you an idea of how big aircraft are compared to ground vehicles, although there are some giants among the ground vehicles as well. You can also see the gradual trend of increasing size - and this continued after WWII (the B-29 is almost a third longer than the C-47 shown here). Well, if you look at today's automobiles, they are also getting bigger every year, so this is not limited to military vehicles. https://s-dt2.cloud.edgecore.ru/korea-tilda/en/IL2GreatBattles.tif 18 8 4
JMax Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Awesome. I like seeing the size comparisons. I always thought that the P38 was a little bit bigger. 1

Unfortunately, several countries (including Russia, where this game is developed) have laws against the display of swastikas. So that's not going to happen. 1 hour ago, Avimimus said: Is there a chance to get a 4K version? If you click the link in Luke's post, just above the picture, you get a full-resolution version. It's 14029x9921 pixels so that should be plenty enough 1
Bell Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Why is Spitfire Mk.IXc on the poster?I don't think it has been released.
czech693 Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Spitfire Mk.IXc was released with update 5.202 in February, 2024.

But to be fair now that is quite a lot of planes to choose from. I would be keen to give more suggestions to Great Battles, believe me, but I am keeping my word on not suggesting or speculating anymore content for Great Battles. I think we have all the essentials. I look forwards to seeing an even greater list of planes in the new series. Edited March 24 by Jackfraser24

I remember when Oleg released the P39 and FW190 demos for Il2. Played that for at least 10 years, kept coming back to that. 1
