1CGS LukeFF Posted March 6 1CGS Posted March 6 Today we would like to share some good news with you - this time it's not about the release of a new module or aircraft or a historical campaign, but about something no less important. We believe that everyone should know history, which is an integral part of human civilization, because if we don't know the past, how can we move into the future? If we forget what we were, what will we become? That is why we are always happy to help museums, documentary film teams or history clubs such as the Flight Sim Club organized by Mr. James Snow at Clark High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mr. Snow started this club to share his passion for aviation and history with the students at the school and noticed their interest in the early days of aviation. Of course, we were happy to help the club: https://clarkchargers.org/apps/news/show_news.jsp?REC_ID=955438&id=0 Think about the fact that those who share your love of history in general and aviation history in particular are not so few - maybe you should organize such a club at your local library or school as well! 18 2 8

CzechTexan Posted March 6 Posted March 6 I'm envious! I wish that, when I was in school, 38+ years ago, that we would have had a flight sim club! Congratulations to those students who have received such a great gift. 3 1
ST_Catchov Posted March 6 Posted March 6 FC eh. 1C helping the boys become chick magnets. Lucky it wasn't MSFS. 1
Jaegermeister Posted March 6 Posted March 6 It's nice to see the Studio helping out the next generation of Computer pilots! I was wrenching on V-8s, riding motorcycles, skiing behind speedboats and trying to get time in Cessnas in High School. I guess times have changed. 1
blitze Posted March 7 Posted March 7 It was the original Il2 Forgotten Battles that led me to moving to Finland. Quite a journey and celebrating 15 years myself. Looking forward to more goodness from 1C Gaming and also a time when countries can be friendly neighbors again. Now, off to fly my 110 - it's a bit slippery outside at the moment. Thaw / Freeze cycle that is Early Spring, makes walking feel like ice skating. Good for balance 😁 1
JG4_Moltke1871 Posted March 8 Posted March 8 Surprise em with revised flight models of Pfalz and Albatros 🙃 1
CFSGB001 Posted March 10 Posted March 10 Good day. I am the advisor for the program at Clark. I did want to stop in and again express my appreciation to 1C for their support. We have been pretty fortunate with getting community partners to help us out with our program, both in terms of software and hardware... We usually have the students start with MSFS On 3/6/2025 at 2:39 PM, ST_Catchov said: Lucky it wasn't MSFS. 🤣 and then they move on once they have the basics down as they realize that shooting stuff is a good way to practice flying skills. So they work on IL2 in both WWI and WWII modules, with the group being pretty evenly split with regards to which era they like better. Then after they have been at that for a bit, they move on to the F/A 18 in DCS. Then they realize that is a lot to learn with only a couple of hours a week and they settle back to IL2. They have learned a tremendous amount with several of the students being in the club for multiple years and some are even planning to go on to become pilots. With regards to WWI, the students immediately recognized the shift in aircraft capabilities with the new module compared to the Nieuports and Halberstadts that they were flying with before. So: On 3/8/2025 at 2:21 PM, ST_Catchov said: Don't fly the Se5a boys. You'll be disappointed. becomes an upgrade even so! They have found and (mostly) worked their way through spin recovery and noticed that even with the later airframes, it is all about energy management. They have also noticed that taking on planes that have rear gunners sucks and have come to the sad conclusion that a lot of actual pilots came to that it's no fun when the other team has parachutes and your team doesn't! So thank you once again to 1C studios and thank you for the words of support from the members of the community. James Snow Clark High School 3 2 1

Yes, but WW1 wins right. How could it not. I'm heartened that the boys are learning about The Great War via 1C's gift. Tick of approval. ✔️ 2 hours ago, CFSGB001 said: it is all about energy management. Of course this is critical James. But it makes no difference with the Se5a because of her abysmal energy loss FM issues in any manoeuvre. Sure, she can boom but lacklustre in the zoom department. She is fast but takes time to build up speed unless vertical. I'd be interested to know what the boys think.
