Jackfraser24 Posted March 5 Posted March 5 Hi everyone. Now this thread at first doesn't seem to make sense and I know that while the IL-2 development team is going onto Korea, I still have one reason as to believe as to why Great Battles has a lot of potential success in the future if development were to be continued by third party developers. Great Battles is a well established game (a lot of work has already been done for it) and has a good reputation amongst the combat flight simulation community. Another reason as to why I think that this is a good idea is because some people may like Great Battles better than the new series, or more importantly they won't be able to run the new IL-2 series on their computer. I sincerely apologize to all forum monitors including LukeFF and Avimimus now if I am making you irritated because if this thread is deleted and/or I am disallowed from being able to contribute further to this forum, I just want you (the monitors) to know I'm sorry. So, if you don't mind allowing me, I'll suggest a few scenarios that third party developers could do. I'll start with Crimea. Crimea (1941 - 1942 & 1944) I would like to see a Crimea module, whether it is a third party module or even just a collector map without planes. This was a strategically important area of WWII and was highly contested over twice between Axis and Soviet forces. Firstly during the Crimean Campaign of 1941-42 which lasted roughly 8 and 1/2 months, and secondly during the Crimean Offensive which went for a month and 4 days. We already have lots of aircraft available for a Crimean Scenario so it wouldn't necessarily have to involve making aircraft to go with it, but a plane list would increase it's value, even if there were only 6 or so aircraft. Aircraft I would recommend would be for a hypothetical Crimea module would be aircraft from 1941-42 to aircraft from 1943-44. Plane List Bf-110 C-4 (1941-42 pilot career) Do-217 E-1 (1941-42 pilot career) Fw-190 A-4 (1944 pilot career) Ju-88 A-14 (1944 pilot career) Soviets LaGG-3 Series 66 (1944 pilot career) P-39Q (1944 pilot career) P-40N (1944 pilot career) Pe-2 1944 Model (1944 pilot career)
1CGS LukeFF Posted March 5 1CGS Posted March 5 Jack, you have started enough of these topics. No more. There are no third-party teams that are going to take on the full burden of building an entire module's worth of planes and a new map at this stage of GB's life cycle. 1 2
