stevinne Posted March 3 Posted March 3 I was reading the announcement of the new theaters under development and have to say I'm underwhelmed. Having purchased most of the European modules and one of Flying Circus, I'm likely not spending any more money on IL-2. I have enough planes to fly and don't feel the need for obscure subvariants of planes I already can fly or airframes that were out of date when they engaged in battle in obscure theater such as Finland or southern Russia. Flying Circus has such AI issues it is not getting any more of my money. The way things stand, I find Rise of Flight a better and more fun alternative. Korea is cool, but I have a Sabre and MiG that I already picked up on sale in DCS, and now they have their low-fidelity Korea fighters that are also really cheap on sale. I would willingly throw some cash in a hot minute toward flying off carriers in IL-2, particularly since DCS developers are taking more time to develop their virtual Hellcat and Corsair than the actual war ran back in the 1940s and Combat Ace will likely be years before we get early war planes, and even longer for the F6F and F4U. While I get that info on Japanese planes is thin on the ground, there is more than enough data on American planes and the A6M planes to develop a respectable high-fidelity sim. I don't know anything about the demographics of combat flight simulator customers, but it seems ED's insistence on staying away from the PTO is just self defeating
