saving joystick key settings

Hi All, I have been having a problem with IL-2 recently and if I cannot sort this out I may have to do a fresh install but before that happens I would like to know how to save my joystick settings, as I'm new to this, I'm going to need a step by step path to follow.

 

Could you please tell me where to find the files and could I then save them to a folder on my desktop, and then how to place them back into the simulation.

Copy the input folder. Mine is located below; yours may very if you did not buy via steam. However, you are looking for the ...\data\input folder.

 

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\input

Thanks for the info,  so when the time comes, do I place the original input copied file back into  the new install input file

 This all new ground for me I have never had to swap or replace files in the sim before.

Yep. Overwrite the new files with the old and you should be good to go.
