Egonkuno Posted February 18 Posted February 18 I am a beginner. I need help. It is almost impossible to aim, because the plane rocks up and down or to the side , when I change the direction to aim. In the videos I have seen the planes are completely steady when aiming. I use the Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas X. Am I doing something wrong or is the app just like that ? Egon , DK. 18. feb. 2025
czech693 Posted February 19 Posted February 19 I'm not familiar with that joystick. Does it have any adjustments that can be made to the control movement stiffness? Also, in the sim go to Key Settings where you assigned your controllers and try adjustments like 20% curve for them reduce the controllers from being too sensitive to your hand inputs. Later as you get more used to the sim and how the controls react you can always change the settings.
Billsponge1972 Posted February 19 Posted February 19 There is a setting I believe in-game for "headshake". Will turn off head shake. Hope this helps.
Aapje Posted February 19 Posted February 19 It's probably the joystick. You are not the only one having issues with it. The stick is known for generating random signals. You can reduce that issue by setting a curve or by setting a dead zone. Although if you want really accurate inputs you need proper gear. A VKB Gladiator or Winwing Ursa Minor is way better. 1
Egonkuno Posted March 2 Author Posted March 2 To Aapje. Thank you for the advice. I have bought a new joystick, Winwing Ursa Minor. Everything is all right now. Egon 1
Colmaniac Posted March 24 Posted March 24 One of the biggest issues with joysticks as they all seem mechanical in their movement, dont know what modern ones are like now, but they seemed to have a dead center stop and some sort of resistance when moving, that usually caused over compensation when moving the stick. Currently have a custom flight stick that has 0 resistance and the movement is very fine also the movement is 100% realistic.
Aapje Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Modern quality joysticks do not have a deadzone and no stiction (which is the resistance that you describe). Basically, the Winwing Ursa Minor and VKB Gladiator for the mid-range, or the more expensive systems with a separate grip by Virpil, VKB, Winwing, Trustmaster, etc.
Dragon1-1 Posted March 25 Posted March 25 Cam-based gimbals have a soft center, no deadzone and can be very precise. Most modern high end mechanical gimbals are of this type.
