PluckyUnderdog Posted February 13 Posted February 13 (edited) As the title says, this game will not, for some unknown reason, recognise my WW throttle as an axis, it registers it as button presses, at either end of the throttle travel. All other axis, fine. Honestly, you make it so difficult to enjoy this sim. You don't offer basic things like native Tobii support, Keybinds disappear without warning sometimes, and now, your game won't recognise my throttle as a throttle. I've also had issues with it recognising other axis in the past, my rudder axis for one, and even the axis of my joystick, for a time. It puts me firmly off buying any content for it, and it also puts me off the upcoming Korea sim, if you can't even seemingly get basic things like this correct. I'm at the end of my tether trying to get this to work properly, on a basic level. You give the distinct impression sometimes that you don't care about this stuff, basic stuff. MAJORgoonMADLOU Posted April 17 Posted April 17 I just got the same throttle and have the same problem
[CPT]Crunch Posted April 17 Posted April 17 If there's a button press within any physical device axis the game will always recognize that over the axis. You'll have to manually set your axis in the file. C:\Games\IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles\data\input\current.map Pretty simple to do, you just have to figure out the device number and axis letter your dealing with.

BoMovik Posted April 18 Posted April 18 There is a button press at top and button of the throttle. If you dont move the throttle all the way. You dont activate these buttons and sturmovik recognize the throttle as an axis. Just tried it and it worked for me. I had the same problem yesterday. 1

I looked at that but cant figure out the device number and axis letter. On 4/17/2025 at 12:46 PM, cardboard_killer said: I think you can do it too with the winwin software by turning the button off. As a computer idiot, I looked at the software several times to try and figure this out but did not see how. I also, as the software directed, actuated the 4/23 mode which still did not activate the throttles as an axis. 8 hours ago, BoMovik said: There is a button press at top and button of the throttle. What do you mean by "button press at top and [bottom] of throttle?" There are several buttons on the top of the throttles and several on the side. I never activated any of these buttons while trying to get the game to recognize the throttles as an axis.

IIRC, pushing the throttle to the top (and bottom?) of its range activates a button. So the advice from @BoMovik is not to push the throttle all the way up nor all the way down when mapping it in IL2. If you search this forum, I think it has been discussed before. Here is a video that discusses calibration.
