Off_Winters Posted February 8 Posted February 8 (edited) G'Day All. At the request of a forum member, I made a small mod to remove the windscreen on the Hanriot D1 to improve visibility. limitations of MOD external view: at certain angles you can see reflections in the area that the glass would normally be. (not seen in cockpit view) internal view: water drops will still form as if the glass was still there when flying through cloud. It is JSGME ready. UPDATED link for Version 2. I missed a small part of framework on 4th skin in selection list. https://www.mediafire.com/file_premium/7zqqtkwykoupwqy/Hanriot_D1_revised_windscreen_V2.rar/file regards Rob. Were the skins in the skin folder supposed to have the blanked out windshield frame like the default skin in the plane folder? They're stock.

They're stock. G'day czech, All skins should show no windscreen in external view in game. I just downloaded the pack and checked the skins have the Alpha Chanel change that renders the windscreen area of the model invisible in game. If your looking at the main skins via a .dds veiwer then you will still see the windscreen area painted as it should be. but the Alpha channel renders that area invisible in game. The pure white area in the red circle is the effect of the alpha channel blanking out that part of the skin in game. The main external aircraft skin located in the Plane folder has the area painted out as thats the colors I used in game to identify the parts of the model that made up the windscreen frame. so that I could then edit the alpha channel in the corresponding area. If in game you are still seeing the windscreen on the aircraft in outside view, then the included skins must be in an incorrect directory path somehow meaning the game cant find them to use in preference to included to stock skins. regards Rob.
Off_Winters Posted February 10 Author Posted February 10 Hi All, I have updated the set and reuploaded as Version two. link changed in first post. I noticed I had missed a small amount of the windscreen frame in the 4th skin in the list. regards Rob.
czech693 Posted February 10 Posted February 10 (edited) Okay, that's for the explanation Rob. EDIT: I installed V.2 via JSGME and in the external view in the sim it was still showing the windscreen frame. So, I manually installed the files into the sim folder and it worked. I checked the JSGME folder structure and it's correct. The only difference I can see is that in the JSGME folder it is labeled as hanriothd1 and in the sim it is labeled HanriotHD1 using capital letters. I didn't think uppercase and lowercase made any difference but for some reason installing it using JSGME wasn't overwriting the sim images. EDIT 2: It's working. I must have accidently put a typo or something the first time I inserted it with JSGME. Edited February 12 by czech693
