Impossible to start Sopwith Triplane engine on winter maps

Just like the title says; I've tried every possible mixture/throttle combination I can think of, and I just can't get it started.  I can easily do it on the first try on spring/summer/autumn.

Tried it at throttle 0%, mixture 100% and it wouldn't start.  With throttle 100%, mixture 100% it started after the third revolution.  Have to be ready to cut throttle or blip the engine as it starts at full throttle like a DH-2 or E.III and wants to go right away.

This was on the WW1 winter map?  I tried that, letting it try to crank at least 20 times, just wouldn't start.

Edit:

So I normally have "warmed up engine" turned off, and that made the difference; in fact it started with 0% throttle.

But the reason this came up, was because I couldn't get it started in a multiplayer server, which DOES have that same "warmed up engine" turned on, but the temperatures were probably colder than they would be in the standard QMB single player mission.

Yes, the winter map.  Tried the Strutter.  Starts with throttle at 0%.  Tried the Pup.  Same problem.  Also, wouldn't start with 100% throttle on first try.  Stoped engine start cycle and re-started the cycle and it started on 2nd prop flip.  I guessing it's diluting the oil/fuel mixture that is shot into the cylinders on these rotary engines (some of the WW2 planes have oil dilution buttons in RL).  But it's finicky.  Can't imagine the devs modeled this, but maybe they did.

Well, I've always had the warmed up engine checked.  I double checked it and it's still on and the start up was still the same as your experience.

Unfortunately we can't set the temperature in QMB; otherwise this would be easier to test.  I'll try to see if I can figure out the temperature of the multiplayer mission I was playing when I first had the problem (with warmed up engine option ON)
