IL-2 Series: Currently watching and this ai seems more enjoyable to the ear however the audio seems to be only in the left channel. But overall it's now enjoyable to watch. 👍 Also Pacific mentioned again : D

deathmisser Posted February 5 Posted February 5 (edited) Btw they state the GPU (graphics) for the game could be around Nvidia 3060 though this is a rough estimate glad I got the RTX 4060ti 16 GB 😋 Thank you Hans for that info much appreciated Edited February 5 by deathmisser
1CGS LukeFF Posted February 5 Author 1CGS Posted February 5 Yes, we're aware of the audio issue, thanks all. 🙂 One of those really strange things. 1

=MERCS=JenkemJunkie Posted February 5 Posted February 5 These details like lighting poles/city lighting and they're damage, railroad damage/craters, civilians etc. sound more interesting when they're all talked about together, rather than when they're talked about individually in a DD. Like they all add up to be more than the sum of their parts. 1 2

76IAP-Black Posted February 6 Posted February 6 Thanks for the Episode 19th! Very nice attention to details on the map! Thanks guys! 1
YoYo Posted February 6 Posted February 6 I watched the video, but I didn't really expect this, I thought there would be more about technical aspects for the final player too. That the land, buildings, editor and a few other things will be done - this is visible from the screenshots and previous statements. Of course, this is appreciated and I'm sure it will be kicked out at a good level. 👍 BUT hat about modern standards? There is nothing about optimization. There is one fragment that the requirements will not be too big (RTX 3060 for medium settings) and the new way of generating maps will be easier on the hardware, but what about the engine itself? There is nothing about DLSS support, and yet we already have version 4. There is also nothing about Frame Generations, and currently we already have Multi Frame Generations. Leaving aside how the engine is supposed to serve for the next few years, since it is not mentioned. Such an option exists in DCS and MSFS, MSFS also supports FG and will soon support MFG. If you want IL-2 Korea to create the foundation for subsequent titles, I simply cannot imagine the title not supporting DLSS 4 and MFG, which are standard today (02.2025), and yet IL-2 Korea is supposed to be for the next years. It would be like announcing the new car without air conditioning, when the competitors has been selling cars with automatic air conditioning for years. Pretty please DLSS4 and MFG as an option in the settings. 2
Juri_JS Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Some nice new features, but from the air the map looks still very much like Il-2 GB. I wonder if there is a way to make the landscape look more lifelike. Maybe by having more variation in ground textures to make them look less repetitive or by adding more smaller details like sandbanks in rivers? Does anyone have other ideas? 4

Apparently the map we're seeing is simply a test map, and that one day soon we'll be allowed to see the full Korea map in all of its promised glory. 😆 1

I wouldn't hold your breath though. 😆 That doesn't look like a test map to me. I thought I've recognized Seoul in some screenshots, but I might be wrong.

=MERCS=JenkemJunkie Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Sounds like maybe a semantics thing? By "test map" he means its a WIP Korea section, but when you hear "test map" you think a non-Korea placeholder map.
Aapje Posted February 7 Posted February 7 As far as I understand, it is a map that is separate from the Korea map. It makes sense to me too, if you want to change a map to test things out, then it is a hindrance to have to worry about messing up a map that has to be somewhat historically accurate.
Jaegermeister Posted February 7 Posted February 7 I'm not saying this is the case here, but a "Test Map" is usually considered to be a simplified, smaller map with less objects and such to speed up loading times when testing specific things for functionality. In IL2 BoX, it's usually the Lapino Summer map because it's the smallest one and it loads in about 2 seconds, unless some feature of the map is important to the test like flying under the Eifel Tower. 1
=MERCS=JenkemJunkie Posted February 7 Posted February 7 (edited) . Edited February 8 by =MERCS=JenkemJunkie I deleted it because it doesn't make sense anymore since the post I responded to was deleted.
1CGS LukeFF Posted February 7 Author 1CGS Posted February 7 Yes guys, this is a test map that we're still using for these screenshots and videos. 1 1 2

If you surprise us with the definitive map in the same way you did with the Mustang cockpit images, then this title will be jawdropping.
Ken_Stallings Posted February 16 Posted February 16 One of the things that keeps Great Battles quite popular years after its initial release is that it's still considered one of the best flight simulator games for VR. DLSS4 is considered by many to be the optimal graphics rendering method for VR. Will the Korea release optimize for this, and have the improved graphics discussed by the team been tested to ensure VR users will still enjoy excellent frames and smooth operations?
Aapje Posted February 17 Posted February 17 The experiences with DLSS 4 on DCS are quite good, so far.
