LUZITANO Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Let's say I took a break from the simulator... and now that I'm back, there are two things that I deeply dislike. 1 - The new battle focused on Korea. Let's be honest here... your target audience is Westerners. If your goal was to attract South Koreans and Russians to the new simulator... well... if that works, I might even watch the movie Devotion about this war, but... let's be honest... In the West, this war is extremely unpopular. The reason is quite simple: China crushed the Americans without using aircrafts. The North Korean Air Force was piloted by Russian pilots sent by Stalin. And this humiliation, because China imposed a stalemate on the US, made this war culturally forgotten in the West. It is the war that has the least documentaries, films and media... So it is an unpopular war, and I honestly disliked seeing so many resources being spent on this! 2 - The other problem is the idea of creating a new simulator just for the Pacific. Why don't you just send one of the developers to Japan to do the necessary research to launch the IL-2 Series in the Pacific? I'm not buying any new simulator! Our audience likes an air museum anyway, we need to expand WWII. Anything past the 50s is already on DCS' radar, they are at a more realistic level, so why not expand WWII as much as possible. We need Soviet planes from the end of the war. We need more tank maps. We need more maps on the Eastern Front too. Why not launch an African map in the desert. That would be so much simpler, there are already so many planes in the game we should aim for a few hundred vehicles as a goal! I want to buy more WWII related stuff and you are getting off topic, when if someone wants to fly a MiG-15 or Sabre they can just buy one of them from DCS! Go to the Pacific! The cold weather in Europe is already annoying, I want to see maps with lots of sun and beaches. Do it for us! 1 1 1 1
Aapje Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Not sure what you want exactly. They are already going to the Pacific, but will do one Korea module first.
1CGS LukeFF Posted January 26 1CGS Posted January 26 Well, for one thing, two more Eastern Front maps - Karelia and Odessa - are coming along with 8 more planes, for GB. So we aren't quite done with GB yet. 🙂 For another, as Aapje wrote, we are going to the Pacific after Korea for the first WWII module. The rest - well, a lot of that is highly debatable, I'll just leave it at that. 1 2
AEthelraedUnraed Posted January 26 Posted January 26 And yet another one of these "I don't like Korea, I want [insert other theatre]" posts/threads.🙄 Does any of these people seriously believe the Devs will throw 2.5 years of development down the drain and suddenly start working on an entirely different map, just because they'd like them to? Or that the Devs haven't done any market research for a project that costs 100s of millions of Rubles in salaries alone? 2 2

This is more of a 'quit rage' post. But I'm not quitting, I'm just monitoring this situation. I was AFK for two years. And now, all this news has left me shocked, it seems like they are doing 'white elephant projects'. You guys should bring Jason back to the team and buy out the Westerners who want to create a competing simulator with the IL-2. You need to have a strategy to steal as many simulator players as possible from WT. We have a community with an average of 200 players online every day, and most of these players have been playing this game for over 20 years. If the IL-2 projects take so many years to develop, by the time the last battle series comes out the game will be very old and unplayable. So each project that leaves the World War II line delays the development of all WWII theaters, and time is the most valuable asset there is.
