Newer non-Vive VR Headset not properly recognized resulting in cross-eyed issues.

Problem AND SOLUTION:

Just upgraded from a Vive to a Quest3. Using ALVR on Linux using Proton.

Was very disappointed when I started up IL2 as the view felt very constricted, cross-eyed and barely playable.

I came across a post on ALVR that mentioned that some games do not recognize newer headsets and to try setting ALVR to report that my Quest3 is a Vive. That did it! Working much much better... still a little off but very playable.

EDIT:  Maybe I got used to it.. or changed something else...  or was delusional... when I changed back to have ALVR reporting Quest3 it seems to be the same as the Vive setting.

If I bring up the Quest3 menu it makes it obvious that IL2 is still very much cross-eyed in comparison. On the plus side.. it's a much better FOV in-game  :gamer: .

Can you say more about your linux setup, particularly how it runs IL-2 in VR? That's really cool.
