BOO Posted January 12 Posted January 12 (edited) I suppose this is principally for @batmacumba but I dont want to be bombaring the poor guy. Currently in CloD there are a good few cockpit clickable items that are not button assignable. As an example, you can switch the fuel cocks in the Ju88 with a button box but the fuel pumps are in game clickable only. EDIT: BUNKUM I appreciate the UI is already a point of contention but are additonal button assignments low hanging fruit or something more complicated? Going further down the rabbit hole, for DCS I can use a Streamdeck interactively via a 3rd party plug in that reads output from the game and therefore switch states. A far as I know, there is no way to do this with Clod but there is the Vitual Cockpit add-on that seems to indicate something is possible. Obviously Streamdeck is niche but simspits are still a thing i guess for the diehards. Again - could what has been done with DCS expots scripts be done with Clod or, indeed, has it already been done and if so, where do I need to look? Cheers Edited January 13 by BOO 1

My understanding is telemetry was not added to the original game (prior to TFS) due to fear of cheating in multiplayer. Things like jetseats, motion simulators external gauges etc. all need this to work and it is hopefully something for future development.

There is several of them in the game. What do you mean by fuel pumps??? There is fuel tank 1 selector, fuel tank 2 selector, fuel tank 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 cock. All of them may have key assigned.

It was me getting my arse mixed up with my elbow this morning. You're right - What I was looking for were pumps as well as cocks. Its just fuel cocks I needed. Now its coming back to me I think 1 and 2 are not reachable or clickable in the cockpit so needed keybinds whilst 5 and 6 are the one that transfer fuel from the outer to the inner tanks, The others are redundant as certain tanks are not modelled (??)

I have been tracking this though, as it would also enable the use of newer FFB joysticks and many many other apps. 3 hours ago, BOO said: Apologies Rostic. Hi Boo, thanks for reaching out. Do we have a problem then or do we not? If we do have missing bindings, I would ask everyone to just gather them up so that when we have the time to do it, we can do all at once. 2

Boo, you need to start the game and play it a bit to check what is there and what is not. And report back specific issue. Video showcasing issue is very welcome. The only problem in Ju88 with fuel tank selectors 1 and 2 is that in cockpit they are behind pilot seat. They are accessible by mouse, but that is very complicated due to there is no way to see them. But there is always key bindings to operate them. 1

In terms of telemetry, what did virtual cockpit use? I know Colander produced the TF Device Like Link and VC used to get the instrument data onto a second screen. https://theairtacticalassaultgroup.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3887 And, as a result, many of us used Virtual Cockpit back in the day https://theairtacticalassaultgroup.com/forum/Downloads.php?do=download&downloadid=188 Whilst I was looking around the interweb, I also came across posts in Steam about people using Clod with motion rigs up to Blitz where it seemed to have stopped working https://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/il-2-sturmovik-cliffs-of-dover-plugin.4836/ OBT~Eazy and ATAG_Oskar have also their Tacview app for Clod which, I presume uses some form of lua export environment? Many thanks for the reply Edited January 13 by BOO
SCG_Schneemann Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Telemetry WAS available in the game at one time. It is a matter of just finding it and extracting it (easier said than done ). The last official original version had it in - Hugso has a custom built motion platform that he said worked beautifully. BUT - the version of code TFS received was not that version, but a prior version, which did not extract the telemetry info, so TFS has, in essence, had to take a "not ready for release" version and add/modify it to get it to the state it is in now. It is a powerful game engine that was not fully developed (obviously). My hats off to the coders to get as far as they have. Please just be patient - the team is working on understanding that part and implementing it. 1

I dont know the first thing about it but, it terms of interactive links twix game and external devices - VC still works so presumably what black magic Colander's Device link does also still works. Equally Tacview presumably takes lua exports from the game. So, the "prior" version presumably does haveat least some export capabilty already just not all of it?
SCG_Schneemann Posted January 13 Posted January 13 The data is obviously there in game - it should be a matter of figuring out what the motion platform software or other programs need, and then make it available per a file somewhere. Hugso was using Simtools. It probably is a good enough place to start. Not hacked out of the game, but provided. It just needs someone's dedicated attention. Batmacumba probably is just that guy. Not to throw all that at him - he's doing other things, but internally it has been brought up when fishing around and extracting parameters, to see what a platform needs. 1

Well at least Clod provides keybind states for most things and not just "toggle" so, now I've overcome my initial numptyness, I at least have the button states I wanted if not the full iteractive warning lights etc. Thanks for the replies Schneemann
