It's not just the single engine fighters that are overly evasive, but the twin-engine fighters as well. I tried a BoB scenario over the channel - Spitfire 1as vs Bf 110 C-2s. The result was delusional as the AI 110s kept spinning when chased, including the Luftwaffe AI gunner firing accurately upside down. It was frustrating, and unrealistic.

Open mission in FMB and set AI skills to average or rookie. Enjoy dumb AI flying straight forward and blind tail gunner. Play with AI skills until you get what yo like. Share best result to everyone here.

I don't believe there is any "magic" skill combination that will solve the problem described. As near as I can remember the firing arc of the 110 gun is totally independent of the gunner animation. It's a humorous situation. Certainly TFS is well aware of this and similar problems, but with a part-time workforce I don't know that they will ever be able to deal with many of the AI issues we report.😔

And a Channel winter wonderland with 15 degrees Celsius ground temperature ;)

Maybe a line of code?

When aircraft is at X degrees, the gunner will disengage for 3 seconds.

I wish setting the AI level was easier, but regardless, neither Ace nor Rookie should be flying like this.

Well, I do aware there are issues with AI in CloD. My personal list of AI issues, are:

  • Some times AI teleport while taxiing taxiways and/or runway.
  • Complete ignorance of danger or "all on your 6".
  • and many others.

But, I still can not understand what exactly you do not like about it...

  • AI doing evasive maneuvers to not being shot down? Well, I do the same when I got "6".
  • AI tail gunner shooting during evasive maneuvers is not realistic??? Have you ever playing as an tail gunner??? I did... had no problem shooting when AI piloting my aircraft was rolling, diving and ascending.

Maybe you are playing old mission since BLITZ original release? TFS made a lot of releases with missions improvements (AI skills adjusted). But they do mention every time that mission in your documents folder will be never updated (quick, single, multi etc.), until you remove them manually.

Can you record video showcasing what exactly bothers you so much???

Will be nice if you provide AI skill settings set in missions you are playing.

I recommend to delete folders selected on screenshot to get update single and quick mission. Or a least:

  • cache
  • ClientAddIns
  • mission
  • missions

Though, you'll lost progress in campaigns. If you care about that, you need to make a backup of ini files in "1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\mission\campaign" folder. Start game. Wait until you see main menu. Exit game. Restore *.ini files to newly created "mission\campaign" folder.

Aware of it, and once the update is released, hopefully this should be fixed. It was an issue of taxiway spline points being too close to each other and when an aircraft gets backed up, or some other unforeseen circumstance, it would "hold", then leap to the closest "next" point. Usually happened when two aircraft are taxiing close to one another, and the lead aircraft hasn't completed their "to the next waypoint" command, so there is a conflict. the rear aircraft doesn't hold in place, so it blips. I've redone every single airfield on the map, so hopefully this is a non issue in the future after release.

Great!

AI usually behave pretty well on the ground, but "teleporting" were breaking good impression, event then you spot cool stuff like this:

Yep, they will go around (usually - hahaha) if they come across each other like that. Usually the blipping was when they were taxiing out of a holding area and lining up on the runway. A lot of time warp portals opening and closing. I THINK I've managed to subdue time and space, and close them.
