Hi all, a quick question.

Would it be possible to allow the Alt F2 camera views to be editable ? Some of them (ie inside a Handley Page) are, er, well. A bit boring. If I could alter them using, say, cursor keys and something like the F10 view lock, that'd be great.

Do-able ? Anyone else agree ?

That would be a very nice feature to have. When making videos and taking screenshots, I have found that the alt-f2 camera is very useful, but often enough there they are just barely in the wrong spot. Being able to move them a bit would make the difference for certain shots.

S!

I'm not sure about this, at my age memories fade. But it might be worth asking RNAS 10 Oliver, I think he found the files and could edit them to give a different camera angle? I know someone did and gave examples. Worth a try?

cheers

I remember something like that, yes. Rather than editing files and restarting the game to see if it worked, I think it would probably be better to have the option to readjust the camera in-game. Much quicker! Until this is added as a feature, editing the files will get the job done, just kind of annoying.

Yep,,editing files, starting the game again and then seeing if they've worked. Extremely time consuming.
The code to freeze the camera position (at least for the cockpit view) already exists, so it might be a simple fix.

When I am flying my Dr1 in a sortie and hit Alt-F2, I get a viewpoint that's offset to the right of the fuselage and down between the lower and middle wings, looking forward toward the cowling.

If I zoom in with the - + keys and scroll with the wheel, I can get a closeup like the one seen here; or look around from that position, along the fuselage and out to the horizon.

I achieved better camera angles than this in my video Alles Kaputt; but only by actually standing next to the sim pod and looking back at the cockpit in the VR headset.

Changing this angle in 2D via key assignments is beyond me but would be a boon to all who make WW1 A/C videos.
