I think someone is using my old account to play on STEAM?

I did change my email adress and PSWD but I think my old one is still in use by sommeone on steam ?

Why do I know or suspect this ?

I did find on a old HDD a copy  (backup) of the game and trie it it worked with the old Username and Pswd until certain hours in the day or night when it did not work?!

Is it possible?

Possible? Yes. Likely? Not at all.

 

What I think is more probable, is that because you used an old copy, it validated using the cached version of your old password locally stored on your HDD. Once it connected to the internet, it invalidated the cached credentials, perhaps because you've been offline for too long.

So you used to have Steam? Do you still have access to it? In that case, it should probably be possible to have your account (including all your purchases) switched to your new email address if you contact support.

I am always connected to the internet, it is a obligation for my ocupation. And yes, your solution is possible also, thanks for the answer.
