RoF skins do not appear in game.

Hi!

 

I downloaded several skins from here:

 

 

And added to proper folder, for example for the Albatros DIII I put the in Data/Graphics/Skins/AlbatrosD3, but in game I can only see a black square, and game stops working saying skin is too large. Any idea?

I have a feeling these skins are for Flying Circus, not RoF. If this is the case the skin files will be too large.

Austro-Hungarian skins I assume? Yes, I made a load of them, for the Fokker EIII, DFW and Albatros, but since there's not much of a game to be had in that theatre, they've been long forgotten. I even did some Russians I think.

OK RealDarko, I've trawled through some old HDDs and come up with this. It's what I made 5 (?) years ago as part of an aborted project to get something going on PWCG 16.3.1 on the Russian front.

 

There's 100+ Austrian skins here for Fokker E3, Halb D2 (masquerading as another plane who's name I can't recall), Albatros D2L, Albatros D3 and DFWC5.

 

Not entirely sure what you're wanting to do with these but I think there's Russian skins somewhere to oppose which I'll try and find, including the comical Muromets bomber and Sikorsky S16 the devs wasted time and resources on.

They do work properly! thanks for sharing them. What I want to do is to have some east front skins for flying over Tarnopol map, so If you can find those russian skins you have I will be extra happy!

OK, I'll see what I can dig out...

I did find them and I've had a twiddle. Here's half a dozen S22 Muromets bombers and one Russian scout squadron flying Sikorsky S16, N11 and N17 with personal skins for 6 pilots and a default.

 

I'll post some others as I get around to it.

 

Please note, there's an anomaly with textures on the S16 template. It only affects the engine, and only before it starts up, so it looks a bit weird in the hanger.  You can take it or leave it. No skin off my rice pudding!
