F1 Pilot View (drifting) - please don't make the same issue as in IL-2 BoX

I hope that in the title IL-2 Korea this bug will be finally removed. Floating cockpit view, when you switch to F1 view, they used to call pilot view. Currently there is always some strange shift of view before the pilot's eyes take the right place. This happens when you change the view, or sometimes even without changing, the view can move away for a moment to return to the default place. It is quite irritating.

Did you try Alt F1?

It doesn't matter what you use. The view sometimes resets and it feels like it's floating away for a moment, adjusting to the settings. It doesn't look good in IL-2, so I hope they'll fix this bug in Korea. I forgot to add, I only fly in VR and that's where it happens. This is a kind of drift that lasts only for a short time and only in IL-2.

In VR - ok , I remember that XR tool kit had option to fix this but that tool is no longer maintained - I don't know if that is still working.

This has nothing to do with any other software. It's a problem in IL-2 BoX series, which unfortunately has this bug from the beginning. The image flows in 3D for a moment after entering the cockpit (what's worse, sometimes it can happen for no reason during the flight, something like a reset and then drifts back to the default position for a moment), I don't know if it doesn't also occur in 2D, because I don't fly in 2D.

I'll try to record an example of what I mean.

Btw. Open XR Toolkit works stil without any issue with IL-2 :bye:.

Sometimes a controller configuration issue (joystick, pedals, mouse) can interfere with the view behavior. If a controller is miscalibrated or sending wrong signals, it can cause unwanted camera movements, including the "floating" you describe.

Hi. I don't think it's a matter of controllers, which IL-2 detects well. Personally, I've never had a problem with controllers in IL-2, which recognizes them well for me. It's just that the current IL-2 engine wasn't really created with VR support at the beginning and was added some time ago. Some bugs can't be fixed, because they are embedded in the engine, maybe without the possibility of changing. I'll record a video of it sometime to show what I mean.

Must say I never experienced this.

I get the same issue on occasion in VR with iL-2 - there will be a momentary blackscreen and the viewpoint will become offset before moving smoothly back into position. Simulated pilot sneezing? 😁

When starting a flight and the game is paused, the viewpoint has a “swimming” movement instead of being locked to my headset’s position.

This is exactly what Im talking about, everyone has it. Some people just don't notice it. Sometimes it also happens during the flight, when you switch views for example or without any reason.

I have the same issue. And I don't have this issue on any other game I play in VR.

So to be clear, this seems to be a VR only issue?

It's hard for me to say if it also occurs in 2D, because I only fly in VR only. Generally, the problem is only in IL-2, because it doesn't occur in any VR game, DCS or MSFS. It's some kind of IL-2 BoX problem. I hope it will be solved in Korea title, this is a slightly annoying detail.

I have certainly never encountered it on a 2D monitor.

I finally found some time to show it (travelling view issue, kind of reset bug?). As you can see, it concerns the "new view" position after the change. It is not a G-force because even when flying straight (example at the end), it occurs when changing the view. I got used to it in IL-2, but I hope that the IL-2 Korea developers will not continue this nonsense and put the same problem in IL-2 Korea. :help:

The video is accurately recorded directly from VR, there is not a very good conversion, but you can clearly see what the problem is. I don't know if something like this occurs with Track IR (after switching views), I haven't flown with TiR for a long time, only VR. No any issue like this in MSFS or DCS, only IL-2 BoX.

I don't recall having that occur with TrackIR myself.

It happens to me a lot of times, even when not changing cameras. I can say that it happens 3 to 5 times per flight, easily. It's been like this since I started flying in VR.

The same, this is example only but sometimes I have it at beginning and during the flight without any reason.
