New VR Beta update released (Dec 16th), now includes auto reporting of crashes

Again, nothing official announced here but on the ATAG forums they have today released a new beta that automatically sends crash dump files to TFS rather than players having to get the crash dump files and email them.

The last beta released was overwhelmingly positive and appears to be very stable.

Cross fingers for the future (and December 2024 release of FaF).

Hopefully this will move things along a little faster. I have only one caveat: quite a few of my CTD or freezes yielded no crash dump file…just sayin’…🤫

In other words, the TF software sends data from the testers personal computer to whomsoever. 🫣

To the coding team at TFS.

Please Puma, don't waste your time. Whatever is said in the Cliffs of Dover section in this forum, some people are permanently turning it in the detriment of TFS...

I think there are a lot of frustrated but still enthusiastic members of the community here. I am happy to go with the flow.

In regard to the latest Beta....it is getting very good feedback, apart from one person with a specific issue, everyone is reporting it is incredibly stable. No crashes and hours of flying at great frame rates.

Time for everyone to sacrifice an enemy fighter to the great joystick gods in the sky and pray.....this is finally a release candidate version 🙏

If I look around in the "sim market" regards to WW2, I have CloD in the first place. For a long time not touching GB, I don't know exactly why but after two years it can not hold me more than an hour. If not CloD, than I fly only 1946. Combat Pilot definitely will be a thing, Pacific is an interesting theatre, the Zero is the Katana of the ww2 aircrafts, but I am unable to let go Messerschmitts, Focke Wulfs and the Heinkels. So with all her goods and bads, CloD will have a place in my heart for a long time.

I see it exactly the same. For some reason I can't really explain, I just don't prefer GB over CloD for WW2. I do like GB for the WWI content, and I'm looking forward to Korea, but for WW2 I'm always going straight to CloD. DCS could be interesting for WW2, but only if they doubled or tripled the aircraft content. With only the handful of super late-war planes DCS currently has (and a random I-16 for some reason), it just can't hold a candle to the gameplay CloD can offer.

I'm also really looking forward to combat pilot and the pacific, but even if that sim knocks the socks off every other sim on the market (which I hope it does given how old the base engines are for all the competitors, but at the same time I'm not holding my breath for such an outcome), they will still be solely focused on the pacific for a long time to come. In my view CloD has at least a decade (at the very absolute minimum) of staying at peak relevance for serious flight simmers interested in WW2 Europe once VR is released.

@Volant_Eagle I bought the 190 in DCS. Just for a try I flew through the high voltage cabels. My prop was bent and I flew an other 5 minute with the plane. I thought: OK DCS, it was a nice try 🙂
