Game hangs at launch

Noobie here and just purchased IL2 Stalingrad from the game studio's site, (not Steam) and when I launch the game I get small splash screen, and hit play. Then full screen with "IL2*Sturmovik". Next screen is email sign in and "Enter". Next screen is full screen video of plane in hangar and camera slowly rotating around the plane continuously. There are no other graphics or input selections on this screen. If I hit the escape key I get quit game or cancel. Also my mouse is very erratic. Just checked back with this screen after 7 or 8 minutes and it's still just rotating view around the plane. Running Windows 11 on a pretty beefie machine.

and noticed the menu graphics on the right side of the screen/hangar which is missing from my screen. So something's obviously amiss with the game and my system

Hope someone can provide some answers or possible solutions. Really would like to play this game.

When you get the "small splash screen" their is a tab for settings in the upper right. Click on this and set you resolution to your monitors native resolution. You should then be able to see the menu.
