Game crashes during mission dowload

Title says it all. Any mission (offline or multiplayer) loads to about 75%, and then everything goes to the Windows screen. No error message. 

This started about a two months ago. What has worked in the past is restarting the computer and starting the game right away. If the computer was on for a while the mission would not download. Today I got to the point where restarting the computer no longer fixes the issue.  

Another thing that is different is running the Steam File integrity check. If in the past it would find one file that needed to be re-installed, now it's finding nine files, but missions will not start regardless. Cleared my Multiplayer folder several times (worked in the past), no luck now. Reinstalled the game about a month ago, the problem remained, however, it was still manageable. RTX 3070 drivers are up-to-date.

Have you got an overheating problem? Check the coolers for dust buildup.

My friend is getting this also, reinstalls, integrity checks &  multiplayer folder delete does nothing, support have been of little help & he's not been able to play in weeks

My brother also have some kind of similar problems when downloading missions. More frequent in multiplayer. And this began around 2018-2019.

We have changed almost every component in his PC except the graphic card, a gtx 1070Ti.

High temperatures are not monitored when crash occurs. The mission folders are cleaned up regularly.

He is using the Steam version when I use the non-Steam version. Maybe this can be a clue...

It is still a mystery, even after 5 or 6 years of investigation.
