JagBR_Tityus33 Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 Howdy, It's been a while since I created a custom skin for IL-2, so I may be misremembering some details, but I recall there being a way to display user-friendly names for custom skins. If I’m not mistaken, this was done using a skin.ini file that would define the display name, which is shown in the skin selection menu. Previously, the structure I used was something like this: ..\skins\Spitfire_MkIXc ├── desert_skin.dds ├── winter_skin.dds ├── battle_skin.dds ├── desert_skin.ini ├── winter_skin.ini ├── battle_skin.ini Each skin had its own skin.ini file with information such as the name and description of the skin, allowing them to appear with user-friendly names in the selection menu. "RAF Desert Early" is much more user-friendly and easier to understand than "spitfireixc_raf_ea_de_05". However, I’m currently running into issues with the skins not appearing correctly, and it seems the filenames are being displayed instead of the names from the skin.ini. Could anyone confirm if this process has changed in the latest versions (5.504b and beyond), or if I’m missing something with the folder structure?
