Took a look and noticed driving distances for tankers. No, 2 hours driving to the target won't attract players. Neither does sea between bases.

Could you please add some method to see remaining mission time. Moments ago I logged in, stats page said round ends in 2,5 hours. I looked at the map, measured distances and made a plan. Took panzer and started about 1 h drive. And in few minutes came text telling there's 15 minutes time left.

Since many new pilots are not 100-percent clear on the objectives, we created a video tutorial with English subs. Please familiarize yourself with the concept of the server by watching this 12-minute video. This will explain why many new pilots are not allowed to take off. It is vital to refer to the interactive map ( https://il2-fl.ru/en/map ) to see if the airfield you are trying to take off from has enough resources: provision (materiel), fuel, and ammunition. The amount of resources that is reduced from the airfield equals to the airplane you select. For example: An Il-2 with 300 liters of fuel and 4x100 kg bombs will reduce the airfield resources as such: Provisions -4200 kg (the weight of an empty Il-2),  -300 fuel, and ~-550 ammunition (bombs and gun ammo). This information regarding every operational field is available on the interactive map (linked above) and is updated in real life. If the airfield is short on any one of these, a pilot will not be allowed to take off and a notification will pop-up in the chat window to inform you of the take-off status authorization. The AI translation can be a bit confusing, so here are your most important takeaways.

1. Register on the https://il2-fl.ru/en website using ANY name WITHOUT special characters (it can be a name you have never used before).

2. Gmail accounts are preferred for email, as some other email servers are not compatible.

3. Confirm registration via your email.

4. When selecting sides "change Coalitions" tab on the left (4:57), make sure to use the nickname you use IN THE IL-2 BOS GAME (special characters are ok, if they are part of your game nickname)

5. Start the game to finish registration. Choose Frontline server. Choose any side with AIRCRAFT only. Click start, and wait for the 6-digit confirmation code, that appears in the chat windows, once you appear on the airfield. Exit the mission (closing out the game is not necessary)

6. Enter the given code on the website, on the "Change Coalition" page, under your in-game nickname.

8. You only have to complete this registration process once. In future campaigns, all you have to do is log in to the website and choose your side, once the server admin resets it.

 

P.S. If you decide to give our server a try in the next day or two, please verify the airfield resources on the interactive map. Over the last week, many airfields have been depleted off of resources, therefore, your flight may not be authorized to take off from a certain field. If you miss the message and take off anyway, you will be kicked out from the server.

I tried to log in, as I have been registered since the first battle of the server. I could not, page claimed even email or password is wrong. I tried to reset password. never got the mail to do it. I tried new registration, but could not, as page said my nickname is already taken. As it is, because I use it. Catch 22.

You do not need to register again. It doesn't make any sense.

 

Try to recover the password later. Perhaps the mail service was working somehow poorly.

 

If it doesn't work out, write to me in the private registration email and the exact nickname in the game.

A small update.

1. The restoration of factories is significantly slow! Previously, the plant restored 10 buildings per year, now it can restore only 3 buildings.
2. The impossibility of killing a School airfield at zero has been fixed. Now it has to be cleaned completely. We need to check!

I was in Dragino, shelling red base w/ Pzkw IV. Got several friendly fire warnings, mostly when shooting static T34s. No ammo worked w/ them and when I finished mission, FF penalty, zero points. Something should perhaps need adjustment in parameters.

Don't pay any attention to it. The points that are awarded inside the game at the end of the flight/ trip are not counted anywhere. We can't control it, and there's a bug when they write in the chat about shooting at their own people, too. Just ignore it.

Yep, I noticed it afterwards in statistics. Next mission after the mentioned one, something grabbed my Pz in a middle of a field and threw it upside down. No enemy action was involved. That was bit confusing.

We are proud to present a massive update that will change your approach to combat. Introducing new strategic and tactical opportunities that will make every battle deeper and more intense! The team has been working hard not just to fix bugs, but to significantly expand the gameplay by adding mechanics that will make you think like true commanders.

Let's take a look at the key new features!

New Tactical Depth: Vehicles as Part of the Main Objective's Garrison

The key change that fundamentally alters battle tactics is a new mechanic where player-controlled ground forces are now counted as part of the objective's garrison from which they spawn. Now, when you spawn in a tank, or anti-aircraft artilery, the friendly main objective tied to that spawn point temporarily weakens itself, "investing" a portion of its strength into your combat vehicle.

The amount of strength deducted directly depends on the vehicle's mass: the heavier the tank, the more vulnerable the objective from which it was deployed becomes. To return this strength to the garrison, you must successfully complete the battle and leave the session while in friendly territory. Your vehicle must "return home."

This innovation creates new tactical depth: a mass deployment of heavy vehicles will make a friendly objective vulnerable to a counter-attack, and the loss of each vehicle in battle will become an irreplaceable loss not only of the vehicle itself but also of the main objective's strength. Protect your tanks! Keep an eye on the indicators on the interactive map—it now displays what portion of the objective's integrity has been allocated to active vehicles.

We have also revised the mechanic for weakening the garrisons of neighboring settlements during a capture. Now, a captured objective will drain 40% of the garrison strength from its neighbors, up from the previous 30%, making each breakthrough more significant and dynamic.

Logistics have also been taken to the next level:
  • Supply trains for large settlements and ports for coastal cities now deliver significantly more resources than regular supply columns. These objectives require reconnaissance.
  • The Stalingrad map now features unique supply routes: Volga river crossings for the Red Army and city depots for the Wehrmacht.
  • Additionally, supply columns now return unused resources to the factory, making resource consumption more precise.

Expansion of the Theater of War: New Map and Vehicles

We are proud to introduce a new game map—Velikiye Luki! Prepare for fierce battles in a new region that will open up fresh tactical opportunities for both air and ground forces.

The aircraft roster has been expanded with two legendary machines: the maneuverable I-153 "Chaika" biplane and the LaGG-3 (Series 4) fighter.

For the last few days, our team has been working diligently to crush some critical bugs in the commander software that were messing with the campaign. We're happy to report that the patch is ready and has been deployed!

However, this news comes with a catch. To make the fix work properly and to ensure a level playing field for everyone, we had to make a tough call: a full progress wipe for the current campaign.

I have a question concerning the damage percentage. At THIS sortie I was once again killed by 7.62 mm AA machine gun. As you can see, damage % is zero. When looking at SORTIE LOG, we can see whopping 0.1% damage. Might need some adjustment, I presume.

 

This was not first time it has happened to me. Once this same 7.62 mm AA gun seriously wounded even Tiger's driver. The mg was on my 3 o'clock when it happened. The magic bullet came through right side armor, passed radioman and penetrated dashboard between driver and radio man compartment. Not exactly the most realistic scenario.

Please write a bug report to the game developers about this. We cannot fix such mistakes.

I suggest a slightly easier guide to registering.  I managed to register but a lot was just randomly hitting buttons - i would never have worked out that "Change coalition" was how you would register your in-game pilot name.

 

Also, for those that do not have on-screen messages, you get a lot of info when you log in, the most importnat being whether or not you are permitted to take off.

 

I love the idea but it just needs some polish.

Registration is simplified to the limit. It is enough to register only once (not like on TAW). After restarting the campaign, each registered player just needs to log in to their profile and select a coalition for the current campaign.
You don't register every time you log into the game, do you? That's exactly the same with us. Register one account, link it to the game account, and use it.

 

Soon we will write an article in English - "how to register on the site and link accounts" Temporarily, you can use the article in Russian with a Google translator, for example.

1806/8 Tesovo, red tank mauling blue base, sitting almost at blue tank spawn. No alert whatsoever. Not first time it happens.
