Is crowdfunding an idea to speed up progress?

Why would crowdfunding or early access speed it up? It just means that they get the money earlier, but not that they get more, so it's not like they can then hire more people.

Crowdfunding doesn’t really have a great history in combat flight sims, although having said that the reason DCS has a WWII component is due to a crowd funding debacle.

Not sure what ‘early access’ can now bring to what is essentially a near two decade old game. Cliffs has fundamental problems with both the game engine itself and the direction of TFS.
What we’re seeing is essentially a small, enthusiastic group of part time devs reliving the same frustrations a fifty strong group of professionals did ten years ago.

Dear Arthur, Crowdfunding has the greatest history of all when it comes to talk about funding a combat flight sim. Indeed, there was Ilya Shevchenko in 2014 with DCS WWII...

And this is why (I guess) TFS is NOT messing with the crowdfunding thing...

Well I already knew this is not gonna happen. But I have a good idea: chop the TFS 6.0 in 3 parts; i.e. 1st part FW190, Typhoon, visual update 4K, new map and trueSKY. The 2nd part with whatever and the 3rd with B-17 and VR among others.

So…death by a thousand cuts? A kind of rerun of the last ten years….but speeded up?

So chop the bits they haven't made from the other bits they haven't made.? Not sure how that helps.

I presume you mean Typhoon, rather than Tempest. The Tempest is neither planned nor in-planning.

Yes I changed it to Typhoon.

So divided into many parts I don't know if anyone would do it. But there is a possibility that the new addon will be released without VR, 4K, True sky (maybe there will be something new in terms of effects) or it will be released when it is completely complete with all the changes, by 2025 ... I would only need a new addon without effects ... (until they finish it later). But I'm most waiting for the single player, a pilot diary for each static campaign. :)

That depends on what you mean by 'speed' and / or 'progress'.

release in 2025 instead of 2026

I can wait for another year if the Typhoon and FW-190 are sold in an early access package.

Hi Bussard

We are not able to do any crowdfunding by the terms of our contract.

Similarly, early access is not possible.
