That's why i love guys from 777 Studios. They were digging through many old documents to simulate Great War aerial tactics in proper way. Even the color codes of flare gun are historically accurate. The game was prepared in early 2000' so it was not super easy to find information. Propably they had to check many documents physically in the museums and another old archives.
