Update Nov. 23 2023: Ground Objects: sFH18 150mm Howitzer

Hello All

 

Some pictures of the sFH18 150mm Howitzer.

 

This was a common non-permanently emplaced coastal defense weapon used by the Germans on the Atlantic Wall.

 

They were set back from the coast in revetments.

 

Also the standard German Divisional Medium Gun.

These exchanged fire with the supporting Destroyers used in the Dieppe Raid as well as targeting the landing troops.

 

There were also smaller Divisional weapons placed closer to the beach... sometimes right on the beach.

By the way, the British only had six Destroyers as Naval Support for the Raid.

 

The British Admiralty did not want to risk any of their Battleships or Cruisers... at that point in the war, there was no Allied Air Superiority.

 

The lack of fire support was one of the significant factors in the Raid's failure... and one of the most important lessons drawn.

 

At D-Day, in comparison, Naval support was provided by 6 battleships, 2 monitors, 22 cruisers and 93 destroyers.  😈

You have Dieppe and FaF announced for the end of 2024 (at the latest)....and we get a picture of a gun?

The fact you have been on the forum, ignored every question about your proposed release of FaF/Dieppe/VR/Speedtree/Truesky/Survey and post a picture of a gun is pretty abysmal to be frank.

 

Will you at least stand tall and offer the bare bones of what once was a thriving community, some honesty and integrity about what the future holds for your project?

Buzzsaw, why is the conversation about Howitzers when what everyone wants to know is what's up with F&F? Can you not just give a small update as to if something is coming in December or not? This is just getting a bit stupid with the no PR or off the wall PR that no one gives a flip about. What gives?

Its a very nicely rendered model. Credit where credit is due. Lets not forget that for all our dissappointment in TFS's frankly bizarre leadership there are people working under that banner doing some really good work.

I seem to remember TFS teasing for years about TF 6.0 that they were working on, but were prohibited from announcing, first by 1CGS and then by Fulqrum. Odd then, that when the formal announcement was made, the Tiffy was the only new aircraft flying. My hope is that by Xmas 2024 TFS will at least be able to show video(s) of dogfights between the Tiffy and FW 190. Else it's perplexing that updates provided seem almost calculated to antagonize.🤔
