Odovacer Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 (edited) Today I was flying today in a Career mission. I was flying the Halberstadt DII when I noticed there were a lot of artifiacts on the screen that I've never seen before. I feared it was the latest IL-2 update, but through troubleshooting, I've narrowed it down to the modification of the anemometer. I'm pretty sure it's this as I've tested it back and forth and it comes back when I select anemometer and goes away if it's not selected. Also, the artifacts only occur over the left wing where the anemometer is fitted. I always select the available instruments I have not seen this on the D Va or the D VII / VIIF. Has anyone else come across this issue? EDIT: spelling Edited November 21, 2024 by Odovacer spelling
1CGS LukeFF Posted November 22, 2024 1CGS Posted November 22, 2024 Good catch, thanks - I can repeat this as well on my end. 1
Zwir Posted November 22, 2024 Posted November 22, 2024 That is anemometer! I didn't know that 😄 I thought that was something on my VR or graphic card. Thanks! I have same when I'm on carrier mission. 1

Davesax1965 Posted November 22, 2024 Posted November 22, 2024 Hi all, same here. I don't seem to be able to attach an image - I initially thought that the propellor graphics were appearing in the cockpit. Doesn't seem to happen with other planes. Hopefully this has now attached properly. 1 1
Odovacer Posted November 23, 2024 Author Posted November 23, 2024 Glad to hear is not just on my end. Hopefully, it can be fixed.
Nanook_ Posted November 23, 2024 Posted November 23, 2024 (edited) I'm having same issue. It is only happening with the Halberstadt DII when the anemometer is selected. I thought it was the prop at first as well. Another issue I noticed was panels disappearing on Nieuports when I was hitting them so there seems to be an issue with the damage model. Some aircraft had virtually disappeared after a few hits. Edited November 23, 2024 by Nanook_
Odovacer Posted November 23, 2024 Author Posted November 23, 2024 Interesting. Today I had the (I assume) pressure valve on the engine (DVa) disappear after I was struck. I thought maybe the damage model was such that it got knocked off. Maybe it's a disappearing artifact as well.

One of the Nieuports was shot up so bad, it was literally the pilot with hardly any aircraft left around him flying around. I wish I had grabbed a screen shot. It only seems to be noticeable when the shot up plane is at a distance. Once you get up close, the missing panels reappear with the correct damage.

Yeah, I had that happen today and made a post about it, type N11. 1
Davesax1965 Posted January 18 Posted January 18 At a guess, it's the bounding box coordinates / size for the anemometer. Hopefully an easy fix.
