Gunfreak Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 I've done a integrity check in steam. I've done a compelte uninstall and install, including deleting the il2 folder. Yet I get the same crash. After a few minutes my screen (both monitor and vr) freezes. But the sound and game continues. And naturally my aircraft crashes into the ground. The screen is so frozen. I can't turn of IL2. I can't get any programs up. As the screen is frozen and I can't get anything up. And all I can do is turn of the computer the hard way.
AndyJWest Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 I'd suspect a hardware issue of some kind: most likely with your graphics card. Start by checking that it isn't overheating.

As far as I know it only happens in singleplayer games, I did a 2 hour game online this weeked just fine, but even a simple singeplayer mission crashes after a few minutes.

jollyjack Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 What GPU? there seems a problem with f.i. a RTX 4080 to do with the connectors to the power supply when strained, usually with incidentally a black screen a friend experienced.

jollyjack Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 (edited) Latest NVIDIA driver is 566.14, maybe install it without experience and the GPU sound chip drivers? Edited November 20, 2024 by jollyjack
