Mysticpuma Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 Now that BoX have pretty much confirmed, apart from one more module, Korea is their sole focus for the foreseeable future and Combat Pilot is solely dedicated (for now) to the Pacific, surely now must be the time for TFS to rise up and be counted. This will only leave DCS, which is not really focused on progressing much further (at the moment) from what has been seen in the last few years in the ETO (and they are looking at The Pacific too?), this leaves just CloD to be the torch bearer for the ETO and MTO. TFS have set out a road map (albeit without dates), but if ever there was a chance for TFS to become a key player, surely this has to be it? While we wait to hear the state of play with V6, the VU, Speedtree, Truesky and VR, this really is the time for TFS to finally break cover and snatch the reins to lead the charge forward as the only developer still in play when it comes to those theatres of operation. I really hope TFS the most of this opportunity. Cheers, Mysticpuma. 1 5

Bussard_x Posted November 7, 2024 Posted November 7, 2024 There is nothing to shine, Korea, DCS and CB are made by creators who do this for a living and TFS is mainly hobby. Were TFS shines is the price they ask for the software. Being depended on hobbyists has already learnt us that they can not get a breakthrough on topics like for example VR. Release dates are a wild guess as a consequence of this. I dunno how breakthroughs can be achieved, I am not an insider. 1

Call them hobbyists all you want but this is the only way of us getting under-depicted yet interesting places, all the other developers are focused other theaters and what TFS plans to cover is not of their interest... at least not in this decade. Why else did the devs not do Sicily after BoN as Jason had suggested? The future of the IL-2 Dover series is much brighter than FC or a continuation in the Korea sim. A breakthrough for TFS is also a flyable B-17 before Combat Pilot releases theirs, and a flyable Lancaster. In short aircraft that flight simmers are keen for these days. You do realize that these two aircraft will come relatively soon and not 'soon' as in Elon's plan to colonize Mars. There's also the option of starting up your own flight sim to cover the Siege of Malta and NW Europe from 1943 to early 1944 with VR included and better progress and PR to give us at least something for us to play with before TFS reaches those areas.
Dagwoodyt Posted November 8, 2024 Posted November 8, 2024 TFS goes to all those locales or the Mars colony first🤔 2 1

Channel map will not be enough if we get B-17's and Lancasters, a large part of Germany is needed on the map, many more hours of development are needed.

I don't think anyone disagree with this, but as it stands, anyone saying they are developing a Lancaster and B-17 would likely be able to show the same amount of progress that TFS have My personal opinion is that I do want TFS to succeed but the way it's going, it's unlikely to be profitable for them and ultimately if that's the case, will Fulcrum keep allowing them access to the Source Code? Interestingly, Fulcrum really do have nothing to lose as I would assume from their point of view, CloD is effectively 'abandonware', so anything they make from it is a bonus. Malta is of interest to me and I really hope the map team can make it happen. While not ideal, there is enough of a plane set to make it work even now, although ideally more aircraft and ships are always welcome, but if there is ever an end date for development, releasing the maps would be appreciated by those of us who have stuck with the team this far....no matter if some see it as a love/hate relationship, all most of us want is the team to fix what needs to be fixed, release what they can and just finally get over the line with V6 🙏 1
BOO Posted November 8, 2024 Posted November 8, 2024 I dont necessarily subscribe to all this "its what the entire sim world has been waiting for" sentiment about the B17 and Lancaster. 2

I think that's fair. Personally a fully functional QMB and updated Ai is what I would love to see. Fixes for the original rather than more things built on the broken foundations....but, it's the way they are going and we just have to wait for the new content when it eventually comes. It is what it is and eventually TFS will break cover and let us know what is going on 2
Dagwoodyt Posted November 9, 2024 Posted November 9, 2024 As long as TFS continues to tease new DLC's and patches Blitz/DWT on an as needed basis Fulqrum will likely be satisfied for the foreseeable future. 1
