76IAP-Black Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 Thanks for this episode! Nice infos around the soviet planes in that era! Good english by the way, keep it coming and thanks
Avimimus Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 The list of piston engine aircraft left out the F-82 and the F7F (both would likely make very popular collector aircraft)! Also, a few others such as the STOLL transports (An-2, L-20A/DHC-2) and the Sea Fury / Firefly. On another note: There seems to be a lot of confusion between the Yak-9P (1943) and the Yak-9P (VK-107 1946)... and I was wondering if this extends to the armament? Most online sources state that the Yak-9P could take larger motor cannons, use the B-20 cannon, or even have three ShVAK... is any of this accurate? How were they actually equipped?
1CGS LukeFF Posted October 30, 2024 Author 1CGS Posted October 30, 2024 Per VikS in the video, it will be armed with two UBS machine guns and one ShVAK cannon. 1
Avimimus Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 That is what I gathered! I suppose no field mods? But I'm still curious as to where the confusion (in most sources) comes from!
1CGS LukeFF Posted October 30, 2024 Author 1CGS Posted October 30, 2024 No, doesn't sound like any field mods - pretty much the plane as it was built in the USSR with one or two instrument mods.
