HagarTheHorrible Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 If, when the game is released in September, development update reports/blogs cease. Obviously the game will continue to be developed and expanded after the official release, I just hope the developers don't think there is no longer a need for a developers diary or blog. I for one like to know, even if it's not always positive, what is happening and how the developers are getting on. It gives me a feeling of being involved in the continued success of BoS rather than just some customer being drip fed the odd update from time to time from within some sort of information black hole. I know, from my RoF experience, that I was far more attentive and interested in the early months, because I thought the developers were listening and interested in the community. Later when development updates and communications became more sporadic I gradually lost interest. 2
FuriousMeow Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 (edited) Why would there continue to be dev diaries when development essentially ceases? And you lost interest in RoF because you got less constant info updates because there was less info to be updated on? That's ridiculous! You aren't playing "info update weekly," you're playing a flight Sim. If you lose interest in the flight Sim because you get less dev info when there is less dev then you're in the wrong genre and gaming experience altogether... the flight Sim is the interest, not what is not being developed for a title that will eventually be in post development phase. Feathered_IV Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 (edited) Well put Hagar. I noticed that when RoF progress began to slow down and the likelihood of further updates and a more complete experience began to diminish, I started to loose interest in the product. 1CGS LukeFF Posted August 9, 2014 1CGS Posted August 9, 2014 What wouldn't be a shame is if these sorts of threads ceased to be a topic of discussion. 3

I'm not saying it's logical Given the niche product for a niche community I think it benefits both sides to have a rolling dialogue. I bought all of the RoF aircraft, most of which I don't fly, because I felt I was supporting the developers and in return I felt they were actively involved with the community. When that communication petered out I became less interested in what the dev's were up to and consequently less interested in supporting them just for the sake of supporting them. 2
Rama Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Maybe it should be nice to wait for dev announcement for release and post-release plans before speculating about hypothetical related "shame". Closing this one. 3
