Cover the whole vert stab of Luftwaffe aircraft with camouflage  paint get rid of those dumb bars. You can't have "it" all on so you shouldn't have "it" on at all.

I've been skinning Luftwaffe planes for Aces High for over a decade. That is exactly what I do. I hate the look of substitute markings in place of a swastika. I just continue with the cammo pattern as if there was never one there, or add a covering layer as if it was purposely over-painted.

 

Now that I've started to dabble with skins for this game, I will continue doing the same.

 Get rid of that half hakenkruse is what I mean. If you can't have it on your aircraft what sense does it make to have 50% of it on? It's just weird. Oh I'm not that nasty because I've only got 50% of it on my plane......
