That already exists externally by TheOden.

Sorry if I seem to be dense but I am new to the forum and new to this game environment (still struggling with acronyms, tbh...) but how can TheOden already has released a version of his brilliant campaign generator for a game that is not yet released?

You mentioned an external app. TheOden has created that and when V6 is finally released, I am sure he will update it, as he did with Blitz and Tobruk, for the new content.

Maybe TFS will surprise us with a DCG as they are already adding a Quick Mission Builder for V6.

For the 1942 static Channel Front the already existing "TheEnlightnedFlorist Dynamic Campaign" could be used too, if anyone is able to update the code:

Advantages:

-Fully integrated in CLOD Team Fusion since ca.2015!

-A wonderful simple to understand Menu

-Suitable for static fronts

-Easy to be customized settings files

Disadvantages:

It is more a semi dynamic campaign generator, for each day one mission created.

Only few campaign results are documented, no awars, no promotions.

Sometimes the time has to be edited to avoid to fly in darkness.

To implement new planes the code has to be changed

To test my updated Rift-S / VorpX settings I created some days before a march 1940 BF109-E4 offensive patrol mission that worked well. (only the bright blinding sun light from west of a late winter afternoon was not so nice)

Concerning VR:

My VorpX/Opentrack/Rift-S settings (semi VR without stereo) are currently working again, working best with Rift-S native settings e.g.: 1280x1440 up to 1.5x 1920x2160.

From August 2020 to 2021 I have flown ca. 40 Tobruk / Blitz missions with Rift-S

But it's not a dynamic campaign. There are no totals of aircraft shot down or ground targets, a pilot's log. Yes, you continue as in the campaign, but the statistics do not add up, they are dynamic missions that count successes from the beginning of a new mission. TheEnlightnedFlorist Dynamic Campaign , that's a dynamic campaign, too bad it only includes planes from the base CoD game. I still use it today. It's a shame that there are only 2 dynamic campaigns that you can create at once. Otherwise, it's a good dynamic campaign. But of course TheOden did a great job. :)

That would be really great.

There now an additional factor to this over and above VR and thats the new generation of FFB and the fact CloD doesnt play nice with it.

Whilst you can "sticky" the Rhino to emulate a traditional spring and cam base its not really a solution. I know everyone with a new toy can do the "telling and reasoning" thing as to why the Devs should make something work but given the existence of exportable telemetry for the instruments and the recent work jdu did in getting Tacview data out of of the game (plus the fact that FFB did, and contunies to work, for the older sidewinders), I wonder if this isnt low hanging fruit.

Would releasing Fortresses and Focke Wulfs without VR put you off buying it?

No it would not.

I purchased Tobruk 1 week after release and I was aware of that VR was not implemented.

And I would buy the FaFWs without VR too.

And I would try to fly it with VorpX and my Rift-S as I did already in August 2020.

To avoid misunderstandings: I don't say that this is a perfect solution.

And from my experience there could always appear new issues and the whole VorpX thing might not work anymore, because maybe anything in the new CLOD FaFWs settings could have been changed.

But I like experiments and currently VorpX works well on my computer.

So I am waiting for my first FW190-A3 intercept mission vs B17E.

Exactly my words. I'm looking forward to changing the Bf 109 F-4 to the Fw 190 A-1, A-2 and A-3 in my "JG 26 Buffin" Campaign, then the Fw-200 to the B-17 and other new aircraft types as they come along... :)

B17 is a B17. Looking forward to making events with it for my group, though I do sincerely hope VR is not far behind. That one last feature many flyers in my community require to make the switch from BoX to CloD
