Gunfreak Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 I know there are skin packs that adds much variation to the WW1 career mode with correct liveries for the squadron. But I cleaned up my download folder and now I can't find the download link.

RNAS10_Mitchell Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 (edited) Gotta drill down a bit.. here's a more direct link. https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/70078-haluter’s-skin-downloader-for-the-il-2-sturmovik-great-battles-series/ The program (HSD), is configurable to allow you to select for example only historical skins, or only custom skins, etc. You can also select skins by aircraft, or volume (ie..FC1, or FC2, etc.). Not a skin pack, but a collection of very nice skins that you can select from and download. It will place them in the appropriate folders as well (nice feature). It's really a nice piece of software. J37_Daedallus Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 Mitch, it might be he downloaded a campaign (which included skins) and can't find the link he used. If so, we would need the name of the campaign to help? cheers 1

Does the skins one download in that program gets applied to correct AI quadrons in creeer mode?
RNAS10_Mitchell Posted October 26, 2024 Posted October 26, 2024 Can't say for certain (maybe someone with more experience in career mode will reply), but because it loads the skins in the proper folders within the game, I would assume they would. But I don't know if the career mode skins you are after are actually present in the HSD collection. I'd say the most effective way to get the campaign skins you want, is to re-download the campaign.

Nope. None of those skins are used by AI in career mode. This one was supposed to make the AI use the correct skins, but the mod isn't working and not supported anymore. I want the flying circus to be colourful. Not the relatively boring thing we have in career mode now.
J37_Daedallus Posted October 26, 2024 Posted October 26, 2024 (edited) Then I would suggest flying Multiplayer where you will see everyone in personal skins. And if you like flying in campaigns, we are in one now, called Flanders in Flames. Edited October 26, 2024 by J37_Daedallus 1
=IRFC=Gascan Posted October 26, 2024 Posted October 26, 2024 That's one of my favorite parts of Multiplayer flying: when I get into action I can easily recognize many of the skins, and can identify not just the squadron but often the individual pilot as well. It really feels like a community, both with people I usually fly with and those who usually oppose me. There is a certain terror when I realize which pilot I'm up against, or the sheer relief when a friendly squadron dives in to rescue me. I find that experience probably more closely matches the WW1 experience than letting an AI pretend to be the Red Baron. 1 1

And then there's those long battles against a human pilot(s), that seem to go on forever. When it's over, your heart is racing, your palms a little sweaty. You feel exhausted. Nothing else like it. At the site there is large pack of skins to down load. Most skins are assigned automatically. I tried Panther's mod and couldn't get it to work.
