A Request To All Skin Artists

There are so many great aircraft skins made by the community for IL-2 Great Battles, but so few that can be used for a flight with the new tactical codes used by Great Battles.  Please, whenever you make a great historic skin that includes the tactical code, also include a blank version so we can outfit a flight with it.

 

And for those of you who have a library of your skin files that you've created over the years, please consider pulling the tactical codes off and uploading the blank versions.  For many us, you won't be wasting your time.  Interesting blank skins are a precious resource!

You are absolutely right. HSD is very littered with such skins. Many squads use a standard skin, but due to individual codes this series grows to the point of indecency. You just scroll and scroll through kilometers of monotonous "creativity"

Skin-creation is very often done by the creator for his/her own benefit and not necessarily for the benefit of others, like yourself. I certainly know that mine are.

'Others' just benefit from them, should they wish.
To call such creations monotonous "creativity" is fairly insulting to a lot of creative people, I would suggest.

'Historical' skins are made to represent just that, an historical skin.

Just put out a request for a blank?

Personally, given your take on the value (not to mention the work) that goes into such things, I would be pretty much inclined to suggest, erm, doing it yourself...

And I am aware of the value of such work, I draw myself. I started this back in the days of ROF

Maybe HSD could add a Tactical code selector marker, added to Historical-Fictional-General etc?

I think it's great that more SIKIN are made where you can upload the numbers and symbols of squadron leaders, that's very good for those of us who make movies or cinematics.

 

You could commission them to the illustration designer of the 3D ROEN 911 aircraft image portal https://www.artstation.com/roen911

PS: There is one thing that is not important but that would be very good, and they are the static images of loading missions and flights and they are those shots of planes attacking or in flight static. It wouldn't be bad if there was an update with new images since we have the usual ones that are in the SIM since its beginnings.

A contest of unretouched or Photoshop-retouched screenshots could be held to have several new screenshots, since we have already seen them a lot. And as a prize it could be a collector's plane or some new campaign.
