brianjgregory Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 The upcoming Team Fusion Cliffs of Dover "Fortresses & Focke Wulfs" expansion is missing one vital - and sadly much under-represented aircraft: the twin-engined Westland Whirlwind Mk1 fighter. Admittedly saddled with quirky & marginally reliable Rolls-Royce Peregrine engines, it - like the Martin-Baker (MB3 & MB5) designs - had enormous potential that was sadly never fully exploited; with the Merlins it really needed (but wasn't desgined for) reserved for Hurricane and Spitfire Marks. Maybe TF will offer it as a future add-on; as it was quite heavily involved in the RAF's chaotic Channel Dash Operation response fiasco. 4
Buffo002 Posted October 10, 2024 Posted October 10, 2024 However, it was a big disappointment, see the article. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westland_Whirlwind_(fighter)

Overall, it was less disappointing than many other types of the era.
SqueakyS Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 I don't think it underperforming or being a dissapointment is an argument for not having it in the game. 2
